This is always an acceptable way to tell the time. There are some alternative ways to tell the time and sound like an American as well: 4 Special times of the day Time expressions: in the morning in the afternoon in the evening at night midnight/noon :00 = o’clock/on the dot :15 = a quarter past :30 = a half past :45 = a quarter ‘til 1:00 = It is one o’clock. 1:15 = It is a quarter past one. 1:30 = It is a half past one. 1:45 = It is a quarter ‘til two. Many Americans are learning Spanish and want to meet friends from Latin America so they can practice. If there is a place that you go frequently, try to introduce yourself.
