TUESDAY STEAM-Design Hub WEDNESDAY Chess Club Mrs. Agrawal & Mrs. McCarthy Mr. Sorenson Mr. Peterson Mr. Sorenson Grades 1-2: Time: 2:37-3:30pm Location: Stage Cost: $50 Dates: 3/21, 3/28, 4/4, 4/18, 4/25, 5/2, 5/9, 5/16 Learn the basic elements and techniques, design composition and drawing. Each lesson will integrate a science or math concept into the project. Unique materials will make the projects new and different and will include holiday decorations and even edible art. Grades: 1-2......Time: 2:37-3:30pm Room: 7 Cost: $90 (for entire school year) Every Wednesday (excluding minimum days) starting Jan. 11th Grades 3-5...Time: 2:37-3:30pm Room: 7 Cost: $50 for 8 weeks Dates: 3/23, 3/30, 4/6, 4/20, 4/27, 5/4, 5/11, 5/18 This class will teach basics of shading, depth, textures and perspective. Each student will have a sketchbook. Media will include pencils, pastels and watercolors. THURSDAY Drawing/Painting Mrs. Latha Rathish Grades 1-2 Times: 2:37pm-3:30pm Room 15 Cost: $75 for 8 weeks Dates: 3/21, 3/28, 4/4, 4/18, 4/25, 5/2, 5/9, 5/16 WeDo is a learning solution that brings together technology, curriculum and handson work. It is aligned with key educational standards and learning objectives. The project-based activities help build STEM knowledge. Working in pairs, students will utilize their skills to create moving models while enhancing their creative and problem solving abilities. Students who took the session last year will be given a new robotics system; a new set of projects Lego/Robotics students will NOT be able to take home any of their LEGO creations Time: 2:37-3:30pm Grades: 3-5 Room: 15 Cost: $75 Dates 3/22, 3/29, 4/5, 4/19, 4/26, 5/3, 5/10, 5/17 Challenge your child with Mindstorms EV3. Whether your child is a Mindstorms beginner or an advanced students he or she will have fun building unique mobile robots. The student will program these using a brand new GUI-based language with levels of difficulty based on their experience. Let your child have creative fun while getting a head start in science, technology , engineering and math. Students who took the session last year will be given a new set of projects. Lego/Robotics students will NOT be able to take home any of their LEGO creations Vex Robotics Club Mrs. Lanich Grades 4-5 Time: 2:37-3:30pm Cost $35 for 8 weeks Room Tech Lab Dates: 3/23, 3/30, 4/6, 4/20, 4/27, 5/4, 5/11, 5/18 In robotics club, teams of four students are tasked with designing and building a robot to play against each other in a game-based engineering challenge, Crossover. Two robots compete as an alliance in 60 second long teamwork matches, working collaboratively to score points. Teams also compete in two additional challenges; The Robot Skills Challenge where one robot takes the field to score as many points as possible under driver control; The Programming Skills Challenge where one robot scores as many points as possible autonomously, without any driver inputs. Classroom STEM concepts are put to the test on the playing field as students learn lifelong skills in teamwork, leadership, communications, and more. Payment and registration forms are due Wednesday, March 15, 2017 Students may hand in their forms to their teachers or directly to the school office. Parents are responsible for transportation after class. Young children (1st –2nd graders) not going to Student Care must be may be picked up outside their enrichment classroom OR by the flag pole in the front of the school. (See form below) It is important that you pick your child up on time! ACT Enrichment is on campus the first week of the session and for the first day every class to insure that your child knows where to go to class.
