14th October 2016 www.arkjohnkeats.org Our Pledge Do you know our special school pledge? It is a very important part of our school ethos and our values. This term, we have been busy learning our pledge in every class. Look— the nursery children in Hendra and Hart Classes are learning to say it too! Please check if your child knows the school pledge and if they’re not sure of it please help them to learn it with you at home. Hart Class learning our pledge Our pledge is: ‘At Ark John Keats, I will work hard every day, always try my best, and be kind to others.’ It’s really important that all of our pupils know the words of our pledge and are able to say the pledge with confidence and pride. The words of our pledge reflect our school values. K E A T S Kindness Effort Aspiration Tenacity Success This is our crest Hendra Class learning our pledge When we say our pledge we put our hand on our crest and over our hearts. This means we say our pledge with feeling - just like athletes when they win a medal at the Olympics and the Obamas when they say the Pledge of Allegiance. We will be sending out letters for all of our clubs (Reception, Year 1, Year 2 and Year 3) next week. Please read the clubs letter very carefully. Last year some parents did not read the letter very carefully enough and this caused difficulties for the staff and myself. Enfield Music Service: Some parents have written to me requesting that the school contributes towards their child’s music lessons if they are entitled to Pupil Premium funding. I will be writing to those parents about this next week. The school will be able to contribute a small amount towards the cost of the lessons for Pupil Premium pupils .
