We can give you information about the routes to and from the huts and what you need to pack. When you have decided which hut you would like to go to, we can book the places for you at the hut. We also need to be able to tell the warden what you will do about food. If you decide to change your booking in some way, please come and see us so that we can phone the hut and let them know. Most huts have no self catering facilities and it is recommended you take the half-board option. Accommodation is usually in big dormitories with no separate rooms for children/adults – male/female. Please make sure you are on time for dinner, otherwise it is possible that there is no dinner left, and you will still have to pay for it. Send one leader to check-in and don’t all go in at once when you arrive. Don't wear boots inside the hut - most huts provide indoor shoes / slippers. Don't take rucksacks, food or drinks into the sleeping rooms in the hut. All huts have pillows and blankets/ duvets, but you should bring a sheet sleeping bag. All the huts have tap water, but in many huts it is not drinkable. All huts sell bottled water, hot and cold drinks. At breakfast most huts supply tea (usually fruity and sweet) to fill up your water bottle. Be quiet at nights – many people go to bed at 20.00 to get up at 03.00 for mountaineering. All prices are checked at the beginning of the summer, but may change, through the summer At meal times you can help the hut staff by collecting together the plates, taking them to the counter and also asking for a cloth to wipe your table Please remember that you are Scouts and as such are representing the World Movement. Respect the warden and other guests and be careful in the hut, as well as when walking to and from the huts. When you leave the hut, remember to thank the warden, take care on the way down and cancel your route card at the Reception.
