Presidential Duties:
- Went to Loughborough London campus and
enjoyed a trial lunch for the new café there as
well as running Tea & Talk for #KeepCalm Week..
- Continued filming with the University
videographer for the annual review video that
will be on the website.
- Had a 1:1 with the Chief Operating Officer to
discuss the governance procedures at LSU.
- Met with the Membership Engagement Officer at
the NUS, Sarah Edmunds, to discuss my
relationship with the NUS and how it could be
improved for the next group of Executive.
- Had a productive chat with individuals from
Careers and Enterprise about the proposed
change to ‘Enterprise and Employability
Development Officer’. This was passed and will
be implemented for the next Development
Officer.
- Went to a Residents Group Meeting who had
concerns around cycling safety so this is
something we are looking to tackle.
- Met with Student Accommodation Centre and
Student Advice to discuss the Housing
Accreditation proposal that I want the Union to
lead on. Also discussed this with the Housing
team at Charnwood Borough Council and looked
to try and find ways of moving forward.
- Continued to hold 1:1’s with my Exec team to
help/support them reach their goals and targets.
- Had a meeting the Director of Students Services
and the East Midlands Prevent Co-ordinator to
discuss the new policy and how LSU needs to be
involved.
- Attended the LSU Board of Trustees meeting to
discuss a number of relevant issues at the Union
including our finances, the building and the
Executive performance.
Executive Duties:
- Went to Union Affairs Committee where the change was
passed to go move Executive Officers rather than VP’s.
- Enjoyed a buffet lunch with some of the Executive over at the
@RadmoorCentre at Loughborough College – all of the staff
are students!
- Attended the Health and Wellbeing Fayre as part of Health
and Wellbeing Week – Well done Gemma for your work!
- Attended the Yoga Society for an hour of yoga on Friday
afternoon as part of Give It a Go Week – Well done Jenna for
organising the week!
- Went to visit the Geography Bake Off – well done
@lborogeog for a fantastic event.
Other:
- Enjoyed a dinner at Peters Pizza with a few of the Exec
- Met my dad for breakfast at @Bumpkinlondon
