Dinner on the Town
Another great turnout! We had so many people we actually
had to switch locations to Boca Kitchen and Bar! The food
there was stellar and we were lucky they could accommodate
us. Be sure to join us for the next dinner on February 7th at
Longhorn Steakhouse.

Meet and Greet
Look at all the people! 23 residents to be exact, that is fantastic!! The
Meet and Greet keeps getting bigger and bigger each time. We have so
many new residents, it’s great to see everyone mingling and getting to
know one another. Next one will be on March 11th, see you there!

SUPER BOWL FACTS:
Let’s talk food first…
Domino’s Pizza estimates they will
deliver more than 9 million pieces of
pizza to viewers! And be sure to pick
up some extra dressing to dip the
1.23 billion chicken wings that hungry fans will be eating.
What would you give up to go to the
Super Bowl?
A
vacation would be skipped by 23 % of
those surveyed, followed by an important work responsibility (21%),
the wedding of a close friend or family member (20%), the funeral of a
loved one (19%) and the birth of a
child (15%). That’s crazy dedication
right there!
From the past:
The first Super Bowl was on January
15, 1967. The Green Bay Packers beat
Kansas City 35-10. It was at the Los
Angeles Memorial Coliseum. When
the Packers won, each player received a bonus of $15,000. Kansas
City players received $7,500. Commercials only cost $42,000 for one
minute. Now the average cost is $4.5
million for 30 seconds of air time.
Records being broken?
Tom Brady holds the record for the
most Super Bowl starts by a quarterback with 6. Brady is currently 4-2 in
Super Bowls, will this be his 5th win?
Coach Bill Belichick has coached
those 6 games, and is now going to
be the first head coach to make it to 7
Super Bowls during his career.
Up until now, the Steelers, Cowboys,
Patriots and Broncos have been tied
with 8 Super Bowl appearances each.
But history is again being made with
the Patriots going to their 9th Super
Bowl, I’d say they’ve got quite the
franchise there in New England!
Finally, on a sad note...the Lions,
Browns, Jaguars and Texans have
never gone to the Super Bowl!
If you were here for our latest lunch bunch with Jennifer and Barry Breaux from
JB Vacation Pros, then you must’ve caught the same bug as us...the travel bug that
is!! Their presentation was fantastic, there were so many books and information
on places to vacation they made you just dream you were there in one of those
locations! They were great people to share their information with us, perfect
resource for anyone who decides to do a little sight seeing in the future. Paradise
awaits us all over the world!! Hmmm, maybe Encore needs to start a travel club?!
BUNCO BUNCO BUNCO BUNCO BUNCO
OK Encore ladies, was Bunco fun or what?! It was so exciting to see such a
great turn out for Kim’s first time taking it on. There are so many new
residents now, we shouldn’t have a problem getting a few more to join in next month. Marsha Otte
ended up being the big winner of the night, and
Betty Limer had too many baby buncos to even
count!! It seemed that everyone truly enjoyed
themselves, so don’t miss out on Feb 9th when we
play again.

Wine Down Wednesday
Another well deserved Wine Down Wednesday! This event seems to be the event
of the month, after all, who doesn’t enjoy a good glass of wine in the middle of the
week? It’s always the last Wednesday of the month, so come on in!
