Dear Parishioners,
Queridos feligreses,
This will be my sixth Christmas here at Saint
Bartholomew and my sixth time writing to you. In the past
six years we have seen many positive changes here in our
parish. We have given particular focus on people. As you can
see our Mass attendance has increased from 1800 to over 4000
and our faith formation program has grown from 260 to
almost 800. This has been a great blessing for us! Finally, as
you know, our parish debt was more than 1.2 million dollars.
Today, that debt is less than $90,000. This is all thanks to your
generosity and our working together.
Esta será mi sexta Navidad aquí en San Bartolomé y
mi sexta vez escribiéndoles. En los últimos seis años hemos
visto muchos cambios positivos aquí en nuestra parroquia.
Nos hemos centrado especialmente en las personas. Como
puede ver nuestra asistencia Masiva ha aumentado de 1800 a
más de 4000 y nuestro programa de formación de fe ha
crecido de 260 a casi 800. ¡Esto ha sido una gran bendición
para nosotros! Finalmente, como ustedes saben, nuestra deuda
parroquial era de más de 1,2 millones de dólares. Hoy, esa deuda
es menos de $ 90.000. Esto es todo gracias a su generosidad y
nuestro trabajo en conjunto.
While we have focused on parish growth since
2011...now we need to focus on our church building. Between
now and September 2017 we will spend at least 3.3 million
dollars on the complete exterior renovation of our church. I
know many of you have been generous in the Generations of
Faith campaign as well as the Annual Catholic Appeal. This
Christmas I come to you asking for a special gift — contribute
generously to our church renovation project. All monies
collected for this Christmas Gift will go directly to our Church
Renovation Fund. I am asking to consider a $150 gift. Some
may be able to give more—others can only do less.
What’s most important is that everyone contributes
something! Let’s work hard to make this the most successful
and generous Christmas gift ever!

The True Believers spent Friday together as one big
group of both middle and high schoolers working on a
service project for the younger kids of our St. Bart’s
community. It was a great way to remind us the true
meaning of Christmas and what small acts we can do
to make those around happy.
Next week, there will be no Thursday meeting, but all
high and middle school students are invited to the
Christmas party. The party will be our last meeting for 2016.

visited Bishop Loughlin H.S. where they recorded
a Music CD which will be available in December.

The death of someone close to us can be difficult
and challenging. The parish is here to help. Four of our
parishioners have been trained in Bereavement Ministry.
