Reminder that ENCORE classes resume this week. Monday classes are: In Stitches,
Movies and Munchies, Cribbage Craziness, Piano Class, Lego Robotics, Exploring
Japanese and DI.
TOP NOTCH LEADERS: Bring back your signed permission slip to Ms. Maldeis

8th Grade STAR teachers: Please check your mailboxes for Courage Retreat
information. Look it over and if you have any questions please contact Ms. Lichtenberg
before Wednesday.
Attention 8th Graders: Please remember to bring a bag lunch with your name on it this
Wednesday for the Courage Retreat (if you did not order a lunch from your STAR
teacher). Also remember you can choose to wear jeans on Wednesday but the rest of our
uniform is still required for all 8th graders (CA polos, no hats, no hoodies, no skinnies,
etc).
Attention all 6th Grade PE students. We will be starting swimming on Tuesday, October
25. Please meet by the main office at the beginning of your class. We will be walking to
the HS pool. You must have a sweatshirt or jacket.
For swimming, each student needs to provide:
 A swimming suit (preferably a one-piece for girls)
 Towel
 Swim cap (optional)
 Swimming goggles (optional)
 A bag to carry their wet suit and towel
 Personal items: deodorant, brush/comb, lotion, shampoo, soap, etc.

If you’re interested in traveling basketball (boys or girls) information sheets and sign-up
sheets are in office.
Open Gym with the Columbia Heights Police Department will be on TUESDAY after
school at CA! Student Council sells concessions during open gym. Be sure to stop by
for a snack. Concessions will be sold until 4:15 pm.
Student Council will continue to sell bracelets for $2 during school store hours.
Start to collect box tops and milk caps! The more you collect the more activities Student
Council can plan. More box tops and milk caps = more fun!
Staff-Quarter 1 grades are due Monday, November 14, 2011, at 8 am.
