BACH CANTATA VESPERS SERVICES
Herald 500th Reformation Anniversary Celebration
@
@
In anticipation of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation in 2017, First
Lutheran Church of Boston is pleased to announce a series of Bach Vespers
on Saturday evenings. The Vespers follow a historical order of a typical
eighteenth-century Lutheran church service, inspired by the services
J. S. Bach led as Cantor of the Thomas Church in Leipzig. The Bach Cantata
of the day will be paired with its appropriate Epistle and Gospel readings.
The congregation will also participate in singing hymns.
@
@
The cantatas will be performed by a professional orchestra on period
instruments, soloists, and an auditioned volunteer choir. If you are
interested in joining in singing with us, please let us know!

All are welcome to join for a wine and cheese reception that follows.
