The first part of the Reformation Hymn Contest of the CPCE has

The first part of the Reformation Hymn Contest of the CPCE has been finished. We inform
now official about its results.
More than 100 entries were submitted in six different languages (English, German,
Hungarian, Danish, Norwegian, Dutch) to the two categories. Participants come from Austria,
Denmark, Germany, Hungary, the Netherlands, Norway and Romania.
Following entries have been selected as winner:
In the category 1. “New text to existing music”

„Heavenly love“ from Mw. Drs. Petra A. de Kam-Bénard (Netherlands) –to the melody
„Now we thank all“
„Zsoltárhang vízjelekben / Psalm“ from Zsolt Miklya (Hungary) – to the melody „Now
we thank all“
Tauflied / Baptismal hymn from Elvira Mahler (Germany) – to the melody „Oh Lord, I
sing with mouth and heart “
Der Tag / Day from Dr. Gertrud M. Schendel (Germany) – to the melody „The day
Thou gavest, Lord, is ended“
In the category “Text for a new Reformation hymn”, only an interim result is available at this
point.
The judges have selected the following entries to progress to the next round:
- Átfordul egyszer / Inside out– languages: Hungarian/English
- Limesen égő / Burning along the limes line – languages: Hungarian/English,
- Når du vil / When you will – languages: Danish/English
- Når kjærligheten drukner i rutine / When ardent love fades into empty talking –
languages: Norwegian/English
- Ich suche meinen Weg / I will arise and go to my father – languages: German/English

In the second round, contestants are invited to compose a melody for these texts. The
winner song – lyrics and melody combination – will be selected and announced at the end of
the second round.
