Tournament Format – An All Ireland Senior’s tournament for gentlemen golfers from Golfing Union of Ireland clubs
who are aged sixty years and over on the 1 st April 2015;
Teams will consist of eight players (four pairs) from a club playing fourball better ball stableford golf off three
quarters of their current handicaps in every round of the tournament;
Team scores will be the scores of the best three cards but in the event of a tie on aggregate scores the best fourth card
will count using tie breaks if required;
Tournament Path –Each club entered will play a regional qualifier at the host club listed on the entry form sent to
them. The top three clubs will qualify to advance in the tournament;
The club placed first will advance to the round of 32. The second and third placed clubs will playoff for the other
place in this round, the second placed club having home advantage and ties must be played before Monday 25th May;
In the round of 32 the two qualified clubs will play a regional final at a neutral venue to be arranged by the
tournament directors. Ties in this round must be played on or before Monday 15th June;
The round of 16 will be played in Connaught (one tie), Leinster (three ties), Munster (two ties) and Ulster (two ties).
Venues, dates and tee times, as well as tournament requirements, will be communicated to each team captain
immediately qualification is achieved. The winner of each of the remaining eight ties will then be qualified to play in
the All Ireland Final of the tournament at Westmanstown Golf Club on Monday 27th July 2015.
Closing date for entries will be Friday 28th February and the entry fee will be E150.00 per club entered;
Specially designed medals, in gold, silver and bronze (eleven to each club) will be awarded to the first three clubs in
the All Ireland Final plus mementos of the occasion (eleven to each other club) competing on the day;
10. The Jimmy Carroll Cup and All Ireland pennant will be awarded to the winning club and provincial pennants will be
awarded to the winning club from each province contesting the final;
