Where can I find the My First Baby Annabell® App?
For Apple devices the app can be downloaded from the
App Store. For devices with Android systems the app can
be downloaded from the Google Play Store. Please use
the search term “My First Baby Annabell“.
Which device is suitable for the My First Baby Annabell® app?
The doll mum app for My First Baby Annabell® has been developed for smart devices such
as tablets and smartphones with Apple iOS system software or Android system software.
You can find a list of devices, that have been tested successfully with the app, on our
website.
Is the app free of charge?
Yes, the My First Baby Annabell® app is free of charge. Furthermore, there are no in-apppurchases. As such, there are no costs for the app. However, playing with the My First Baby
Annabell® I Care for You doll is essential. So purchasing the doll is fundamental for using the
app.
Do I need an internet connection for playing?
You only need an internet connection for downloading the app. For playing with the app, the
app does not have to be connected to the internet.
Is the app available in different languages?
The app is available in different languages. Just click on the sheep with the balloons on the
starting page, in the children’s room. Choose the sheep holding the balloon with your desired
country flag. The app automatically switches back to the children’s room afterwards. Then
you can start your favorite game sequence. (Also see III. QUESTIONS ON GENERAL

II. SAFETY ISSUES
Is the app appropriate for children?
The My First Baby Annabell® doll mum app is self-explanatory and is for children aged 3+.
However, we recommend parents join their children while playing with the app and to
consider general recommendations regarding children and media.
Does the app collect data?
No. The app is constructed in a way that we do not need or collect any of your data. TÜV
Rheinland (an independent German test institute) has tested the app regarding data safety
and confirms the data security with the corresponding seal. Please read the Data Protection
Information on our website for further information.
Is the app secure?
The My First Baby Annabell® doll mum app has been tested by TÜV Rheinland (an
independent German test institute). By giving the seal, the test institute confirms that the use
of our app is secure for you.
Once in a while you can hear a high tone. Is this tone harmful?
These tones are not harmful – not for children, animals, or older people. These signal tones
are required for the communication with the app. We would like to ensure you that these
tones are not a manufacturing error or reason for customer complaint.
III. QUESTIONS ON GENERAL FUNCTIONS
I loaded the app, but how can I start the game?
Tapping on the sheep symbol will open the app. Two sheep appear while the loading
progress is shown on the bottom of the screen. As soon as the app is completely loaded the
picture changes and you will see the doll’s baby room.
In the game several areas are locked with a lock. For the first play through, we would like to
guide the player to go through the game sequences in a logical order. In an order of how a
baby’s typical day runs. First the morning routine (symbolized through the left picture), then
lunchtime (picture in the middle) and finally going to bed (picture on the right). When you
click on the first picture, the first game sequence starts: the morning routine. From there on
you can easily follow the explanations of the speaker and the tutorials.

I have loaded the app and chose a game sequence/a picture, but I cannot tap
something anymore. Nothing else happens.
The general concept of the My First Baby Annabell® doll mum app is that the children play
with the My First Baby Annabell® I Care for You doll within the game sequences to activate
the next stage, instead of doing so solely through the app or tapping through the story. For
us it’s important to support playing with the doll and not to replace the relationship between
the child and the doll with an online game. That’s why the app reacts only to signals that are
triggered by the doll through different functions in the game sequences. The app does not
work autonomously, but only in combination with the doll.
Please listen to the speaker. She tells the recommended action to each situation in every
game sequence. Additionally the app shows little tutorials about how the action should be
performed on the doll to continue the app. The speaker guides the child through the app step
by step.
I have a doll and the app, but nothing happens in the app. What to do?
Do you have a My First Baby Annabell® I Care for You doll? Only this doll provides the
required signals.
Did you switch the My First Baby Annabell® I Care for You doll on? To check, please open
the hook-and-loop fastener on the back of the doll and push the switch on the right side of
the battery case upwards into the APP position. When the switch is on NO APP position, you
can in fact play with the doll, but not in interaction with the app.
Does the My First Baby Annabell® I Care for You doll produce sounds when switching on?
When the batteries should be full enough. If not, please check, whether the batteries are
empty or inserted in a wrong way.
When all these issues are fine, then it’s still possible that the doll is too far away from the
smart device, so that the doll cannot interact with the smart device. We recommend using the
doll less then 50cm from the smart device. Ideally the face of the doll should point the smart
device.
The doll does not always or does not react, as I expected.
When the doll does not react at all, please check the batteries and the switch position. To
check this, please open the fabric on the back. The switch is located on the right side. Is the
switch positioned on APP (top), the doll is able to communicate with the app. In switch
position NO APP (bottom) you can play with the doll, but she will not interact with the app. In
OFF position the doll is turned off.
When the doll does not act like desired it is possible that the distance between doll and smart
device is too far. Please consider the maximum distance of 50cm. It’s also possible, that the
microphone of the smart device is covered. That can happen, when something is lying
between the smart device and the doll causing the communication to be interrupted.

The same can happen, when the smart device is set up straight and the microphone gets
covered because of that.
How can I find out the position of the microphone?
The microphones of smart devices mostly are inconspicuous, often very little holes. On a lot
of devices they are positioned on the side.
How can I finish the app?
The My First Baby Annabell® app can be left or shut down the same way as other apps on
your device, by pressing the back button.
IV. QUESTIONS REGARDING PLAYING WITH THE APP
The doll does not wake up. What do I have to do?
For waking up, please kiss or stroke the doll. Touch her in the middle of her forehead (above
the eye brows in extension to the nose). If needed, press a little harder, otherwise the doll will
go on sleeping.
If she is still fast asleep or has changed into standby mode, you can activate her again by
picking her up and bringing her back into an upright position.
How do I feed her with her bottle?
Support the baby’s head and put the bottle into her mouth, so that is touching the roof of her
mouth. If the bottle doesn’t touch the top of her mouth, she cannot drink nor cry. Once
feeding, feed her till the sucking sounds stop as that means that she is full.
While feeding the doll always cries. What did I do wrong?
The doll is still hungry. Just put the bottle back to her mouth, press it to the roof of the mouth
and go on with feeding her until she stops sucking. Then she is full.
After feeding, the baby has little milk drops on her face. How do I whip them away?
The milk drops are spread over her cheeks. Best to wipe her cheek for at least one second
with the cloth. Do not wipe to too softly; otherwise the drops won’t go away. Don’t worry, if it
does not work at first, keeping trying as it will work better each time. Keep on wiping till the
stars in the app show that the face is clean.

My doll burps, but the app does not react. What do I have to do?
Maybe the app did not realize that the doll already burped. Just tap the baby’s back several
times and point the doll in the direction of the smart device.
How do I tickle my doll?
Please ensure that the doll is in an upright position. She does not like being tickled in a lying
position. She can sit or can be held up while you press her tummy. You will find the most
ticklish point very quickly.
I have changed the nappy, but the app does not react. What do I have to do?
For changing the nappy you have to lay the doll on her back. That’s very important, because
she does not like changing her nappy in a sitting upright position. (She thinks you want to
tickle her then). Take off the romper and open her nappy. Is the nappy dry? Then close both
the hook-and-loop fasteners again properly. The doll should be babbling now. If not, press on
her tummy again. Then she knows that the nappy is secure.
The doll does not make sleeping sounds when she lies on her side.
Sometimes, babies do not want to sleep immediately. Hold her up again and put her gently
on her side. It’s good to try her other side as well, as it might not be her coziest sleeping
position this time. When she does yawn, she will fall asleep very quickly.
What happens, when I press the hand with the heart on it?
That’s the sign for the app that the little girl would like to look to the moon and the stars.
Press the hand with the heart on it for 1 second minimum in an upright position to activate
the sequence. If it does not work the first time, just press again, a bit harder and longer.
What happens, when I press the hand with the flower on it?
That’s the sign for the app that the little girl would like to clean up her room. Press the hand
with the flower on it for at least 1 second in an upright position to activate the sequence.
Ideally point the doll in the direction of the smart device and tip her over from right to left. Do
not shake her too vigorously, as she will feel sick. Tip slowly till the stars in the picture show
that another piece is tidied up and magically flies to its right place. Now try the other
direction. It’s so much fun, and the room will be cleaned up in a wink!
If the doll is lying down when pressed, pressing the flower is also a sign to the app to start
the good night game. Press the hand with the flower on it for 1 second minimum with the doll
in the lying down position to activate the sequence. In the app, the storybook gets larger and
the good night picture opens. With every new press on either of the doll’s hand a star falls

from heaven and brings one of the sheep or one of the flowers to sleep. You can keep
pressing until all the animals and flowers are asleep.
What happens, when I press both hands at the same time?
If you press both hands at the same time for at least a second, then the little doll will start to
sing.
The doll switches to unintentional activities?
When the doll performs different action than desired, then the action has probably been
triggered by another or additional touch. The concept of the app is that the children do not
have to do exactly what the app proposes in that moment. Some kids would like to play one
function several times or would like to change to another activity beyond what the app
proposes. That’s all possible with the app. It recognizes the triggered function and changes
to the corresponding activity in the app.
Please take care about triggering only one function at one time to avoid undesired changes
in the game. For example: do not touch the doll’s cheeks or press the tummy while feeding
the bottle. You should also take care not to touch the forehead or the cheek while she is
burping. When you do not want to play the functions which has been triggered by mistake,
just play the desired action again and the app will jump to the desired point.
