Namibian Splendor Itinerary (8 days, departure every 2 nd Saturday of the month) Day 1: Arrive Windhoek, Namibia/ Kaliombo Farm After a warm welcome at the Windhoek Hosea Kutako International Airport, enjoy a short trip through the capital city of Windhoek. Head eastwards via Okahandja city to Kaliombo farm in the central region of Namibia. A late afternoon nature drive around the farm ground allows for game viewing and a magnficent sunset. Spend the night in safari tents at the edge of a dry river bed at the popular Kaliombo Safari Camp. Accommodation includes dinner and breakfast. Day 2: Swakopmund After a hearty breakfast, travel along the main road B2 via the cities of Karibib and Usakos, with a lunchtime arrival in the coastal town of Swakopmund. After a short town trip around town, check in at the Namib Guest House, a popular hotel situated within walking distance to the centre and the ocean. Spend the rest of the day at leisure. Accommodation includes breakfast. Day 3: Walvis Bay The day begins with an early transfer to Walvis Bay for a catamaran ocean and dolphin cruise to Pelican Point. Enjoy the antics of the seals jumping onboard and a good possibility of witnessing schools of dolphin frolicking along side the boat. Sparkling wine, fresh oysters and snacks will be served during this excursion. Return to Swakopmund, where the rest of the day is spent at leisure. Day 4: Damaraland/Twyfelfontein An 09h00 start sees the tour continue along the coastal road to Henties Bay, crossing the desert into Damaraland, towards Twyfelfontein. Locals from the Damara tribe guide the tour of Twyfelfontein, Namibia’s first World Heritage Site, famous for its rock engravings and paintings. Accommodation at the Aabadi Mountain Camp near Twyfelfontein includes dinner and breakfast. Day 5: Etosha National Park Today the tour leaves for the Etosha National Park. With an immense size of 22’270km², a total of 114 species of mammals are found in the park, including elephant, giraffe, black and white rhino, blue wildebeest, zebra, lion, leopard and many different species of antelopes. The first game drive commences en route to the rest camp, here a waterhole inside the camp offers great game viewing in the evening and during the night. Accommodation at the Okaukuejo Rest Camp includes dinner and breakfast. Day 6: Etosha National Park An all day game drive inside the Etosha National Park offers outstanding game viewing and photographic opportunities, both from within the vehicle as well as at various stops at waterholes. Accommodation at Mushara Bush Camp includes dinner and breakfast. Day 7: Lake Otjikoto After breakfast, depart to Lake Otjikoto for a short visit before continuing to the Frans Indongo Lodge, situated 30 km before Otjiwarongo and close to the Cheetah Conservation Fund. An optional game drive in the late afternoon can be booked directly at the lodge. Accommodation at the Frans Indongo Lodge includes dinner and breakfast. Day 8: Windhoek Travel to the Cheetah Conservation and meet the female cheetahs at the Main Centre, a perfect opportunity for incredible photographs. En route to Windhoek, enjoy a short stop at the Okahandja Wood Carving Market where different tribes sell their artifacts of craftsmanship. After an afternoon arrival in Windhoek, enjoy a last minute shopping spree in the city, before a airport or alternate hotel transfer takes place.
