BLOBFISH
BY COLE
Characteristics
Adaptations
The blob fish normally grows
to be 25 to 30 centimeters tall.
When blob fish come to the
surface they automatically die
and when they hit the surface
they are not used to the pressure so they turn into a blob of
flesh. They have 2 front fins.
Instead of flesh the blob fish
has a gelatinous substance
which helps them float. They
do have fins but since they float
they only use their fins to go
somewhere but they usually
stay in one spot unless being
attacked.
Ecosystem
The blob fish lives in the
Pacific ocean around 600
to 1,200 meters deep. The
pressure is 120 times as
great as sea level. It is very
dark and cold being that
deep. An ecosystem is a
place where an organism
lives.
Human interactions
Yes humans do interact
with blob fish but it is negative interaction because
when humans net fish
they sweep the ocean
floor and pick up the blob
fish. Right when the blob
fish hits the surface it
dies.
