We are happy to welcome Jen Wong to the Henderson Hall EFMP
team as a Family Case Worker. Jen has been with EFMP since
2010, and this is actually her second time at Henderson Hall. Jen
was very involved throughout the transformation of Henderson
Hall EFMP in 2010, to include offering more family support services, outreach, education and the standardization of the respite
care program. She was instrumental in creating the First Annual
National Capital Region Joint Services EFMP Resource Fair &
Roundtable Discussion. Jen’s been welcomed as a guest speaker
on behalf of Marine Corps EFMP to the OSD EFMP Headquarters
Workgroup, Naval District Washington Symposium, Military Child
Education Coalition and the Virginia State Collaborations Conference. Along with her past EFMP experience, Jen brings a “family
first” philosophy to the table
and understands the medical
and educational challenges that
military families may face during periods of transition.
She will be serving families at
Henderson Hall, Marine Barracks Washington, CBIRF, Joint
Base Andrews, Anacostia, and
Walter Reed National Military
Medical Center.

TRICARE TIP OF THE MONTH:
Tricare Overseas Program (TOP) Prime Remote
TRICARE Overseas Program (TOP) Prime Remote provides quality, cashless/claimless
health care coverage to active duty service members (ADSMs) and command-sponsored
active duty family members (ADFMs) assigned to overseas locations that are not supported by military hospitals or clinics. TOP Prime Remote beneficiaries may be assigned to
host nation primary care managers (PCMs) who will coordinate care.
If you do not have an assigned PCM, your TOP Regional Call Center coordinates your care
with the physician you wish to see. International SOS Government Services, Inc.
(International SOS) acts as your PCM for referral and prior authorization management.
Below is the link with great information about TOP. This is a fantastic resource for families
who will be executing PCS orders to OCONUS locations where access to an MTF or typical network care is not readily available. There is also information about command sponsorship and TOP coverage, as well as information and POCs for servicemembers on Embassy duty.

EFMP FAQ of the Month
What type of help can my Family Case Worker (FCW) provide
when it comes to special education/school services for my child?
Answer: The short answer is, “As much or as little support as you want.” The more com-
plete answer is the FCW can provide you with all the information you need so that you fully understand your rights and your child’s rights under state and federal special education
regulations (IDEA); the school district’s responsibilities to provide your child with a free,
appropriate public education; advocacy and negotiation strategies to assist you in getting
results for your child; and can also attend school meetings with you (eligibility, IEPs, placement, etc.) as a silent partner, coach, or co-advocate.

Henderson Hall, Bldg. 12, Conference Room
Many parents struggle with discipline techniques and strategies to
manage their children’s negative behaviors. Other parents wish
they could encourage their children to finish chores, homework or
other necessary tasks without whining or complaining. The 1-2-3
Magic Discipline Class, offered by New Parent Support Program
can help. This class, designed for parents with children ages 2-12,
teaches parents consistent and effective discipline techniques. Classes are offered every other month.
Please call 703-614-7204 to register.
