November 1, 2012 “I want to die young at an old age. I want to go down serving and singing and loving and laughing and having a good time until the day comes when they finally lower me into the ground” Author Unknown Abundant Living Vol. 5, No. 1 October 2011 FOR SOJOURNER USE ONLY!! SOJOURNERS The name “Sojourner” is an ancient Biblical word. It is used over 40 times in the Old Testament. The dictionary says a “Sojourner” is one who resides in a temporary place. We, the “National Evangelism with Sojourning” mission use this name in that sense. But others also use this name. The civil rights movement back when it first was started, almost at the start of this nation, used this name. Today, many organizations, including bookstores, colleges, civil rights groups, Churches, and service organizations, including us, use this name. We do have a copyright for the name “Sojourning” and have trademarked our logo. So, as a member of the “National Evangelism with Sojourning” mission, use the name “Sojourner” with pride, but remember and explain to others that we do not “own” this name and many other groups, some which hold radically different views from ours, use this name also. Therefore, as you go, let people know that this is the case. FROM THE CO-DIRECTORS The 2012 Camp Bee Workshop was a great success with keynote speakers Michael Gaunt from Scotland and Keith Hodges from Eastern Hills Church of Christ in Marshall. Our green dots were well represented by 20 couples and one single during the workshop. Many classes were available, covering safety in traveling, electrical hookups, promotionals, door knocking, RV maintenance (helpful hints), and specific classes for green dots on sojourning to know what is expected from requestors and team leaders. A listening lab was held at Eastern Hills Church of Christ the first week of October and was attended by approximately 25 couples and some singles, Thursday and Friday evenings with an all-day session Saturday (including lunch). We are looking forward to seeing many new and seasoned sojourners in our travels and at Camp Bee this coming year.
