Picking up
Please inform us in writing/in person if someone new is picking up. We do check ID’s of new people
picking up and check the list provided by each family of people able to pick up their child. It is very
important to keep your pick up list as well as family data form updated with any changes.
**Please Note: Drop off/Pick up must be by an adult over the age of 16.
Parent Corner
The parent corner/board, located adjacent to the children’s mailboxes contains important notices to be
read and checked frequently. The lunch menu is posted, as well as calendars, sick guidelines, specials,
etc.
**All students should carry a backpack to bring home homework/notice folder. Please check daily and
return daily!**
Tardy Policy
The core day begins at 8:30. Students arriving after 8:40 am are marked tardy and parents/grownups
must go to the office to pick up a late pass before coming to the classroom. Late passes must be
brought to the teacher/EI in Rm. 4.
The Morning Routine
Children thrive off routines and routines of the classroom will be established early on. Each morning
upon entering the classroom, the child should:
1. put backpack/jacket and belongings away neatly in their cubby
2. Place homework/notice folder in the folder bin
3. Wash hands
4. Read the Morning Message/answer the interactive question
5. Complete morning work/assignment
Clothes/Attire
 If clothes are sent home soiled/dirty, please send in the next day a new set of clothes for your
child’s bin. Remember, accidents happen, even spilled milk!
 Dress your child for weather! We go out in cold, cloudy, sunny, hot and misty weather. If you
feel that your child cannot go out for any reason you need to provide a doctor’s note and need
to pick up by 3:00pm.
 Please dress your child in appropriate shoes. Sneakers are best for the playground and must be
worn on gym days.
Items not recommended for school:
 Jewelery: necklaces, bracelets, silly bands, and watches should not be worn during school hours.
 Home toys should be left at home. 1 cuddly toy is acceptable for rest time.
 Candy/Gum is not allowed in school. Cough drops are considered candy – please speak to the
nurse if you feel your child will need them.
Sunscreen
A sunscreen permission slip is available for students in the afterschool program. Please ask the teacher.
It is recommended that sunscreen is applied at home before leaving for school.
