Lesson 5: iINVEST
Objective
God needs great kids like you who will love Him, serve Him, and obey Him. That’s why BGMC kids want to learn
more about how to pray, how to give, and how to go. This “Pray, Give, Go” lesson is about GOING, or being a
missionary to your world—right where you live. The GO part of BGMC is E-LIFE and how to live out five basic
commitments for Jesus: Seek, Show, Share, Invite, and Invest.”
Check out all the ways you can GO and be involved in E-LIFE by clicking on the BGMCKids home page button
called “Just Share It” at www.bgmckids.ag.org.
As a Group
Review the Five Commitments of an E-LIFE Kid—being a BGMC missionary to your world.
Make these five personal commitments below, so that you can “GO” as part of the BGMC “Pray, Give, Go”
challenge. Here are the Five Commitments of an E-LIFE Kid:
1. Seek the Holy Spirit’s help in helping others.
2. Show kindness and friendship to others—so you may one day lead them to Christ.
3. Share the story about Jesus—why He came to earth to live and to die for mankind—and to share
your story about how you came to Jesus.
4. Invite others to church and to know Christ as their personal Savior.
5. Invest in the lives of others by mentoring other kids so they can learn more about Jesus.
Play the games and apply the devotional thoughts as explained in the lesson. Do one lesson per meeting.

You can be a missionary right in your school and your neighborhood. The “GO” part of BGMC’s “Pray, Give, Go”
challenge is being an E-LIFE Kid and sharing with others about Jesus. You can invest your life in the lives of others.
How? By teaching others about the Bible and about living for Jesus! This lesson will show how you can invest in the
lives of others.
Here are some fun ways to learn how to invest.
Game 1: “Chuck It,” or “The Paper Wad Game”—
Locate two wastepaper baskets. Place the baskets
parallel with each other, about three large steps apart.
Now create two free-throw lines in front of the baskets—
about five long steps from the baskets to the free-throw
lines. Wad up 12 sheets (all the same size) of scrap
paper and place six wads at one free-throw line and six
at the other. Select two people from the group to stand
at each free-throw line. On the count of three, they must
try to toss all six of their wads into their own wastepaper
basket. The person who makes the most “baskets” is the
winner. Repeat the game as time allows.
Game 2: “It’s Better to Give Than Receive”—Have a
CD player or a digital player with speakers on hand for
this game. Have the group form a circle. Place a paper
wad in the hand of one person in the circle. Instruct the
group that when the music begins, they must pass the
paper wad from person to person to the right. When the
music stops, the person holding the paper wad is out
of the game. Continue playing the game over and over
in the same manner until only two people remain in the
game. Then the grand championship begins as the final
two players see who will be the winner.

Now share this devotional thought:
Jesus invested himself into the lives of His 12 disciples by teaching them spiritual truths. He “discipled” them, or
mentored them. Jesus also invested in our lives by giving up His life for us, by raising from the dead, and now
by intervening for us at the right hand of God. Jesus also sent the Holy Spirit to be our Comforter and to give us
power through Him!
Now it’s our turn to invest in the lives of others. We do that by sharing with others what we know about God’s
Word and about living for Jesus. It’s like being a teacher: We teach others about living for Jesus by sharing
Scriptures with others, explaining what they mean, and by telling how these Scriptures apply to us today.
The LORD said to him, “Who gave man his mouth? Who makes him deaf or mute? Who
gives him sight or makes him blind? Is it not I, the LORD? Now go; I will help you speak
and will teach you what to say.” (Read Exodus 4:11-12)
God appeared to Moses in the form of a burning bush. He had seen the suffering of His people, the Israelites,
because they were slaves in a foreign land. God wanted to free His people, so He instructed Moses to lead them out
of Egypt. But at first Moses was too afraid to even appear before the Israelite leaders to explain what God had told
him in the burning bush. Moses began to make up excuses why he couldn’t do what God had commanded.
As a group, read or discuss Exodus chapters 3 and 4, and find out firsthand how God mightily used someone who
felt inferior (no self-confidence) to do a supernatural task for Him. Allow time for everyone to share what God is doing
in their lives and how they too may be called on by God to do something bigger than they can imagine. Maybe that
something big is making a friend with someone you don’t know and one day leading that person to Jesus!
