The stages at which ATP and NADPH are used were correctly indicated on the figure, as
were the respective numbers, The main purpose of the three phases of the Calvin cycle was
concisely outlined. Difference between Calvin cycle and Krebs cycle was colTectly stated
with respect to AlP.
Descriptions of changes in blood lactate and glucose levels for cyclists who used the pyruvate
supplements were concise and accurate. Explanation of the trend observed, with respect to
the lactate levels, demonstrated a good understanding of the experimental results. This is also
evident with respect to the suggested conclusion.
