Awarded –2nd Runner up of Best Course in Malaysia (Horizon Hills GCC)
Kota Permai Golf & Country Club and Horizon Hills Golf & Country Club were recently recognized for their
excellence in golf course by garnering the second and third placing’s in the ‘Golf Magazine Top Ten Courses in
Malaysia’ Awards ceremony which was held at Templers Park Golf & Country Club.
Both the Kota Permai Golf & Country Club and Horizon Hills Golf & Country Club received awards for being
crowned the second and third place respectively in the ‘Golf Magazine Top Ten Courses in Malaysia’ Awards
ceremony held at the Templers Park Golf & Country Club recently.
Readers of the magazine were given selection criteria to ensure that they picked the courses worthy of being
in the top ten position. An expert panel, which consisted of experienced golf writers, rules officials, golf
industry leaders’ and a professional golfer was formed to ensure that the transparent application of the
selection process was duly complied with. The panelists include Mr. Joe Carlos, Datuk Wong Sai Wan, Ms.
Malkeet Kaur, Mr. CC.Boo, Mr. V.Ravindran, Mr. Frankie Choo, Mr. KP.Low and Mr. Danny Chia.
Gamuda Land Clubs Group General Manager Mr. Tang Meng Loon and Kota Permai Senior Club Manager; En.
Saha Kamarudin were at the event to receive the awards for Kota Permai and Horizon Hills. In commenting
on the recent achievement, Mr. Tang said "At Kota Permai and Horizon Hills, our entire team is committed to
delivering world class golfing experiences. We offer more than just golf and we are proud of our reputation
for having created a welcoming environment that attracts both golfers and non-golfers, who are keen to relax
in our family-friendly Clubhouse environment”.
Golf Magazine Chief Editor Ms. Malkeet Kaur said "It is not surprising that Kota Permai and Horizon Hills
emerged in the second and third positions. Both these clubs, known for their proactive marketing practices,
were popular choices of the voters. Kota Permai and Horizon Hills are an example of how golf courses should
be maintained. Throughout the years, they have managed to sustain their high standards, not just on the golf
course, but also in their level of service."
The inaugural ‘Golf Magazine Top Ten Courses in Malaysia’ poll began in January till October 2015 for over a
period of 10 months. Thousands of readers voted for their choice of the top ten golf courses in the country
via the magazine as well as on the Golf Magazine website.
