The Melvin Patrick Parrimore Sr Scholarship
Statement of Purpose: Established to provide financial assistance in the
pursuit of a secondary education to high school students whose character
demonstrates through their lifestyle, kindness, truth and service towards
others as exhibited by the namesake of this award, the late Melvin Patrick
Parrimore Sr.
Eligibility
Graduating African American male students in the Aldine Independent
School District who meet the following criteria:
• Must have a GPA at 2.5 or above (4.0 scale)
• Plan to attend a two year or four year college, university or trade
school in Texas as a full time student
• Must be a United States citizen
Application Particulars:
• Must be received or postmarked by March 31, 2014
• Must be typed and grammatically correct with no misspelled words.
• Attach a letter of recommendation
• Attach a copy of your official transcript
• Participate in an interview by the awards committee
