Topic: Revision of toys and colours
Focus: names of toys (ball, doll, cowboy, teddy bear, spaceman, dog, car, dinosaur);
colours (red, yellow, green, blue, orange, pink, purple, black, white, brown, grey);
basic questions (What's your name? How old are you? What's this? What colour is it?
What's your favourite colour? What's the day today?)
Aims: to revise the material (toys and colours)
to practise vocabulary
Student: knows the names of colours and toys
sings Hello Goodbye song, Toy song, Colours song
answers the basic questions
Type of activity: whole class, individual work, activities involving movement
Materials: flashcards, student's book ENGLISH ADVENTURE 2, CDs with songs and
scripts, children's toys.
Procedure
1.
Singing the Hello song
2.
Warm up: - counting the boys and the girls in the classroom;
- Donald's questions – the teacher walks with Donald puppet and asks questions: What's
your name? How old are you? What's this?
What colour is it? What's your favourite colour? What's the day today?
3.
The teacher presenting flashcards with toys and asks question: What's this?
Children say the names of toys then put the flashcards under the right words on the
board (doll, car, teddy bear, dinosaur, spaceman, ball, cowboy, dog).
4. Singing the Toy song:
It's a doll, it's a car, it's a teddy bear,
It's a cowboy, it's a dog, it's a dinosaur,
It's a spaceman, it's a ball, it's a big, red ball.
My toys, my toys, my toys!

The teacher asks the pupils to show their favourite toys. The children answer the
question: What's your favourite toy?- My favourite toy is...
6.
Revising colours - The teacher encourages children to show the correct colour:
Show me something blue, red, ... . The teacher shows flashcards with colours and asks
question: What colour is it?
7.
Colour dance – All pupils pick up a crayon or any other school object, sing a song
and do the actions:
Blue, blue, blue, blue, blue, Stand up! Turn around! and Sit down!
Yellow, red, green, brown, pink, purple, orange...
8.
Singing the Colours song:
Red, yellow, green and blue,
orange and pink and purple too.
Black and white, brown and grey.
Let's learn the colours today.
9.
Listening and colouring – children open their books, listen and colour the toys:
The car's pink. The ball's red. The cowboy's orange. The dinosaur's purple. The dog's black.
The spaceman's green. The doll's yellow. The teddy bear's brown.
