they do, where and when they meet and how much it

Adlington Luncheon Club
We are a large lunch club with over 40 people attending a typical session. Our
members range in age from 50 years to over 90 years, with the majority of
people in their 70s. We provide a hot meal which is cooked on the premises.
We also offer a variety of activities including bingo, raffle and spot the ball.
The local chemist shop comes regularly with a stock of goods to sell.
When do we meet?
We meet on Fridays, 11.30 - 1.30.
How much is a meal?
A meal costs £2.00.

We are based at Adlington Community Centre, Adlington Road, S5 8BT.

There are limited places on the Club’s own transport for people with walking
difficulties. Transport costs £2.00.
Car parking is available if you use a car.
If you use public transport, the number 83 bus runs between Ecclesfield and
Bents Green via the city centre and stops on Adlington Road. Other buses

Angel Lunch Club
We are a small lunch club with between 15 to 20 people attending our
sessions. Our members range in age from 60 years to over 90 with the
majority of people in their 80s. They would tell you that they look forward to
meeting up each week and really enjoy the meals. We meet in a pub where
we have our own private room. The pub provides our meals. We also offer a
variety of activities including sing-a-longs, guest speakers and social
activities. Members pay 50p subs. per session.
When do we meet?
We meet on Tuesdays 12.00 – 2.00.
How much is a meal?
The meal costs £2.75.
Where are we?
We are based at The Angel Pub, Sheffield Road, S13 7EQ.
How can you get here?
The Club can organise transport for people with walking difficulties. Please
liaise with the Club organiser about how much this will cost.
If you use public transport, the bus number 123 runs between Crystal Peaks
and Endcliffe and stops on Sheffield Road. Buses number 25 and 25A run
between Woodhouse and Bradway, and stop nearby, as does bus number 22,
which runs between Nether Edge and Woodhouse. All the buses run via the
city centre. The nearest stop is Stradbrook Road/Chapel Street.

Bangladeshi Asian Women's Lunch Club
We are a lunch club for Asian women that generally has between 15 and 20
women at our sessions. Our members range in age from 50 years to 69, with
the majority of people in their 50s. We provide a hot meal which is cooked on
the premises by a team of volunteers. Our club offers a variety of activities
including discussions, healthy eating and first aid awareness.
When do we meet?
We meet on Mondays, 11.00 - 1.00.

Banner Cross Luncheon and Friendship Club
We are a large lunch club with over 40 people attending a typical session. Our
Members range in age from 60 years to over 90, with the majority of people in
their 80s. We provide a hot meal which is cooked on the premises by a team
of volunteers. We offer a varied year round programme of speakers and
entertainment. The programme includes choirs, musicians, conjurors,
traveller’s tales/slides, safety talks for the elderly and speakers on other
topics.
When do we meet?
We meet on Tuesdays, 12.30 - 3.00.
How much is a meal?
A meal costs £2.50.

We are a medium sized lunch club with around 30 people attending a typical
session. Our members range in age from 50 years to 89, with the majority of
people in their 70s. We provide a hot meal which is cooked on the premises
by a team of volunteers. Our club offers a variety of activities including bingo,
a film club, quizzes, chairobics (gentle exercise), themed lunches, monthly
social evenings, trips and socialising.

We meet on Fridays, 12.00 - 3.30.

We are a few minutes walk from Crystal Peaks Shopping Centre. If you use
the tram, Drake House Lane is the nearest stop. The Bus number X52 from
the city centre runs to Eckington Way and the junction with Beckton Avenue.

We are a large lunch club with around 40 people attending a typical session.
Our members range in age from 60 years to over 90, with the majority of
people in their 80s. In addition to a hot meal we also offer a variety of
activities including bingo and a raffle.
When do we meet?
We have a Monday and a Wednesday Lunch Club. Both meet at 11.45 - 1.30.

We meet at Hackenthorpe Community Centre, 12 Four Wells Drive, S12 4JB.

There are limited places on the Club’s own transport for people with walking

nice dinner", "I like to chat to the other people at our club as I live alone. I
enjoy making cards and calendars", "When you are on your own you need
some company and to get out of the house". We provide a hot meal which is
cooked on the premises. We also offer a variety of activities including an
Agewell activity class, chairobics (gentle exercise) socialising and an optional
Church Service.

We meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10.00 - 2.30.

Cemetery Road Baptist Church Lunch Club
We are a medium sized lunch club with around 20 people attending a typical
session. Our Members range in age from 60 years to over 90 years, with the
majority of people in their 80s. Our members would tell you our club has "very
friendly and caring staff that provide an excellent meal at an amazingly cheap
price" and has "a good friendly atmosphere where people can meet friends".
We provide a three course meal and a cuppa. Meals are cooked on the
premises by a team of volunteers.

We meet on Tuesdays, 12.15 - 2.30.

If you drive, there are some car spaces but they are
very limited.

4 runs between Darnall and Millhouses, via the city centre. This is a circular
route and runs along Cemetery Road, where the club is located.

We are a large lunch club with over 30 people attending a typical session. Our
members range in age from 50 years to over 90, with the majority of people in
their 70s. Our members would tell you our club offers "a good atmosphere,
good meals at a low cost and the opportunity to meet other people and make
friends". A local school provides the meals and we add extra trimmings
ourselves. We offer a variety of activities that includes an optional church
service, morning coffee at 10.30, chairobics (gentle exercise sitting down), a
bring and buy table and credit union visits.

people in their 60s. In addition to a hot meal we also offer bingo and a raffle
after lunch. Members pay £1.00 subs. per session in addition to the cost of

Woodseats Methodist Lunch Club
We are a large lunch club with around 30 people attending a typical session.
Our members range in age from 60 years to over 90, with the majority of
people in their 80s. Our members would tell you "The lunch club gives us the
chance for a chat, many of us live alone so the company is appreciated", "The
food is good, puddings are excellent. We appreciate second helpings". We
provide a hot meal which is cooked on the premises by a team of volunteers
and a social and friendly atmosphere.
When do we meet?
We meet on Tuesdays, 12.00 - 1.45.
How much is a meal?
A meal costs £2.00.
Where are we?
We meet at Woodseats Methodist
Church, Holmhirst Road, S8 0GU.
How can you get here?
There are limited places on the
Club’s own transport for people
with walking difficulties. Transport
costs £1.50.
If you have a car, there is some parking available.
If you use public transport, the bus numbers 75 and 76 run between High
Green and Lowedges via the city centre. Bus number 43 and 53 run from the
city centre. Bus number 25 and 25A run between Woodhouse and Bradway
via the city centre. All run along Chesterfield Road.
