Basketball Operations Intern
The Niagara River Lions are the ninth entrant in the NBL of Canada. As the Niagara Region’s only professional
basketball team, the River Lions seek to bring a competitive, unique and family-friendly brand of basketball to the
Region’s sport fans.
The Niagara River Lions would like to welcome all applications from students enrolled in academic programs who are
looking to gain relevant sport industry experience.
Specific Responsibilities: (Included but not limited to)

Assist the coaching staff during each practice
Assist with practice facility setup and take down
Manage and maintain player equipment
Cut and edit video for the team’s coaching staff
Help prepare and implement operational plans for team events, and community initiatives
General administrative support for the Coach/GM
Other administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications:
•

Experience playing and/or coaching basketball is considered an asset
Knowledge of the game of basketball is considered an asset
Educational background studying sport management, kinesiology, or in a related field
Must be completing this internship for academic credit
Experience in video editing is considered an asset
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite applications considered an asset
Adept knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications

Length of Term: Four and eight month terms available starting September 1, 2015
Availability:

40 hours a week Monday-Friday
Some evening and weekend work will be required
