FACTS SEPTEMBER 2010 Extrication from cars during road traffic accidents The task of the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB) is to enhance and support societal capacities for preparedness for and the prevention of emergencies and crises. To increase the knowledge of Swedish fire service personnel the MSB compiled the book – Extrication from cars during road traffic accidents. Taking care of casualties following accidents is responsible and demanding work. It is vital to permanently direct attention to casualties and to MSB-89.5 adapt the emergency response in accordance with their condition. The fire service, the police, the ambulance service and others must be bale to work together to achieve a satisfactory result.
