The Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre is curating our newest fibre art show with a twist. “As the
Crow Flies” focuses on interpretation of Canada in celebration of Canada’s 150th. Through the use of
multi-fibres, multi-media artists showcase their fibre skills with one-of-a kind pieces.

pulleys, and circuits … win at Operation®, find out what makes a Jack-in-the-Box jump, see behind the

TOYS: The Inside Story was developed by the Montshire Museum of Science, Vermont. This exhibit is on
loan from the Montshire Museum of Science, and the tour is managed by Sciencenter.

This new exhibit pays homage to the County’s Pioneer, inviting reflection on the cultural heritage that
formed the County with stories of agriculture and the European settlers who made Canada their new
home and developed the corner stones of our present communities. This exhibit covers settlement,
immigration from Europe, surveying and land sales, and domestic activities while exploring architecture,
business, crime, education, religion, services, technology, tourism, and transportation.

National Canada Film Day

Celebrate Canadian Film with this free screening of ‘The Grand Seduction’, a funny and fresh Englishlanguage adaptation of the 2003 Quebecois comedy La grande séduction, this film tells the tale of a
small fishing village in Newfoundland that must secure a new doctor to keep the community alive.
NCFD is brought to you by REEL CANADA with the generous support of Canada 150.

Eco Explorers

Ages 7 - 12
Become an Eco Explorer and join us for different hands-on programs about the environment. Children
will have fun while they develop greater environmental awareness, learn more about ecosystems, and
create a stewardship project for their neighbourhood.
Pre-registration and prepayment required
Members $25 for both dates ($15 for 1 day) Public $35 for both dates ($20 for 1 day)

9th Annual Wine Tasting: Sandbanks Winery

Discover the wines of Sandbanks as Christine Michael of Prince Edward County’s Sandbanks Winery,
takes you through a guided tasting experience with a selection of red and white wines. The evening
includes a welcome wine and five tasting wines paired with delectable appetizers by the Elk & Finch.

Eco Explorers Bus Trip
June 2 (PA Day)
8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Eco Explorers will be venturing out to the Laurel Creek Nature Centre for a full-day field trip! Bring your
outdoor clothes and a packed lunch (we’ll provide bus snacks). We’ll get up close and personal with
pond and land creatures on this fun-filled day. Specific activities subject to change. Non-Eco Explorers
youth ages 7-12 are invited to sign up for this trip as well.

Doors Open Bruce County invites the public to explore some of our most interesting and significant
landmarks and buildings! Our Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre fits the bill and is full of the
interesting stories of our heritage! If you’ve never visited or it’s been a while, or you are a frequent
visitor who would love to show off the Museum to a friend, it’s a great day to visit with on-floor
Interpreters and guided tours throughout the day.

April 23-29 is National Volunteer Week. Our volunteers are a valued part of the team at the Museum!
Volunteers and friends are invited to a morning social. Thursday April 27 from 10 a.m. to noon. Drop in
for coffee, tea, and treats on us! If you have thought about volunteering, it’s a great opportunity to learn
