Wrestling started at the beginning of last week. After having an average season last year, the team looks to capitalize on the previous outcome and make it to the WPIAL tournament. When asked about the team, senior captain Hunter Baxter said, “This year we have great leadership and experience with our underclassmen along with the strength with some of our newcomers. I’m looking for great things this year especially at our individual tournaments throughout the season. We have a team that meshes very well with each other, and our coaches just add to the experience. We have great coaches and I expect they will lead our team to do even more great things this year.” The Rams will attend multiple individual and team tournaments this season. Of those tournaments, the Rams will take on the prestigious Powerade Holiday Tournament. This tournament is the ranked the toughest individual tournament in the state of Pennsylvania and the second toughest tournament in the country. Senior Captains Hunter Baxter and Garrett Burnham were the only two on the team to place at the tournament last year (Baxter 6th , Burnham 8th.) The team will also take a hike down to Hampton, Virginia for The Virginia Duels. It has been two years since the Rams made the trip to Hampton for the tournament and the team is looking to avenge their losses to a couple of Virginia’s finest teams. Baxter and the rest of the senior captains encourage all students to come out and see some exciting wrestling. The season officially started Friday, November 19th and will carry through until the end of February and beginning of March. The season ends a week or so after the last day of WPIALS. The coaches include Peter Barry, Shannon Kabala, and a new coach who is yet to be determined. Barry and Kabala are also the coaches for the private club team PRA, or Pine Richland Aquatics. Barry is the head coach followed by Kabala. Barry has been coaching for high school swimming and PRA since they came about. Many amazing swimmers have been coached by Barry. Kristen Murslack, now a senior at Auburn University, holds nine records, and six pool records was coached by Barry and has an amazing future of an Olympian ahead of her. There is a hope for the swimmers of becoming closer, encouraging each other, and crushing their opponents… maybe even North Allegheny sometime in the future. As the freshmen learn the ropes of swim meets, team cheers, and the encouraging aspect of being a part of a family, the juniors and seniors push themselves to get recognized by colleges. Senior Ryan Schonbachler got recruited by Pitt’s swimming and diving to join them… this is the hope of many of the swimmers. With hands raised, a group of nearly 200 far-right extremists gathered together at the National Policy Institute Convention to praise the recent Republican Presidentelect. Shouts of, “Hail Trump,” “Hail our people,” and “Hail victory,” sent shockwaves through the surrounding area of Washington as leader Richard B. Spencer stood strong on the convention stage, smiling with pride at his supporters. With dreams of “a new society” and “ethnic cleansing,” the self-proclaimed altright advocates promote white supremacy and the superiority of the European race. Spencer, the leader of the organization, is known world-wide for his controversial JILLIAN SIEGAL FRONT PAGE EDITOR ideas. The neo-Nazi group centers on the ideologies of white superiority. The movement spreads anti-Semitism through means of white nationalism, and speaks down on other subcultures within America. "America was, until this last generation, a white country, designed for ourselves and our posterity. It is our creation and our inheritance, and it belongs to us," said Spencer. Although this movement has spanned over several years, the recent election placed the organization in a new light. The group claims that they support Presidentelect Donald J. Trump, and they feel as if he follows some of the same viewpoints that they have about the society of America. Outrage rose as Americans came to terms with the idea that a neo-Nazi group is showing their support for the upcoming President of the United States. However, at a meeting with The New York Times on Tuesday, November 22, Trump denied any connection to the group and said that he does not approve of the organization. “"I condemn them. I disavow, and I condemn,” he said. The question still lingers, however, of whether Americans should be concerned for the fate of a nation under the hands of a man who is taken as an inspiration for intolerant organizations. ENTERTAINMENT Lucifer Episode 9: Homewrecker ISABELLE KRATZ EDITOR IN CHIEF The ending to this episode made me so mad. We had such a nice moment between Lucifer and Chloe-she saved his home from being demolished, then he invited her to dinner, and then he stood her up. THE NERVE. Chloe looked so heartbroken, and she texted him to see what was up, BUT HE JUST READ THE TEXT MESSAGES AND DIDN’T RESPOND. I’m still angry. I’m shaking while writing this. It was like episode 7. One step forward, and two steps back for his character development. We saw Lucifer defending his home and fighting for something he loved, and when Doctor Linda’s questions scared him, he retreated and fell back into himself. I get that being scared is human, and a huge development that shows how he’s changing, but it’s so hard to watch because he feels the negative part of being human, when he won’t even admit to himself that he loves Chloe. Lucifer has started to feel the best part of being human-love, and he doesn’t even realize it. To everyone else it’s obvious. It’s obvious to me, and at least three or four of the characters have mentioned it to Lucifer or Chloe, but both shrug off the mention of it. It frustrates me to no end, but I can’t help but love watching it. Both Lucifer and Chloe have gone through too much character development and have too much history for this relationship to die before it starts. While Lucifer avoided seeing her, it A DANCE WITH THE DEVIL-Chloe and Lucifer share a dance after she just proves Dr. Linda’s point that he cares that much about Chloe’s opinion of him. He cares about her as helped protect his home, his nightclub Luxe, from the police. well, and the thought of telling her the truth terrifies him. The character who I grow to hate each week is Lucifer’s mom. This episode shows how hell ruined her and twists her love into something borderline possessive. The one thing I love is that the villain is a woman. It shows that women are as much capable as evil and are humans, not dependent people on pedestals. I always appreciate a female villain, not matter how devious and annoying. Dobby: A Free Elf XENOPHILIUS LOVEGOOD QUIBBLER EXCLUSIVE How has Harry Potter influenced your life?
