Santa’s Hidden
Treasures
Lauriston Castle is delighted to offer a
magical experience for Nurseries and
Primary 1. All visits are FREE of charge,
led by Lauriston Castle staff, and are run
in approximately two hour sessions
between 9.30 - 11.30am or 12.30 - 2.30pm,
although these times can be adapted. We can take a maximum of
one class (approx. 32 children) per visit.
WORKSHOP INTRODUCTION
Bring your class to magical Lauriston Castle for a wonderful Edwardian-themed workshop.
Discover original Edwardian toys from the Museum of Childhood’s collection under the
decorated Christmas tree and enjoy Christmas stories in the old Library. Complete the visit
with a historical Victorian Magic Lantern show and a visit from a very special guest! On
Christmas Eve one hundred years ago, Father Christmas lost some very special presents. He
thinks they may have fallen out of his sack at Lauriston Castle. Could your class help to find
them? This is journey of enchantment for your class and a chance to learn about historical
objects in a novel way.
