About Jessica Jessica is an innovative culinarian with over ten years experience in catering, entertaining, and as a personal chef. She has vast knowledge in a variety of foods and cuisines, and has particular expertise in recipe development and testing, plating and presentation, and social media management. At Plateful Solutions, she brings her sophisticated palate and analytical, oftentimes witty, style to the culinary aspect of the business. She has literally written over a thousand recipes, and has the ability to quickly hone in on exactly what people want to eat and when. Given her experience running her own business, Jessica is an expert in social media management and strategy, and can find the perfect channels to deliver your culinary brand message. Going back to the beginning, Jessica fell in love with food as a farmer's daughter in Blenheim, SC. She went off to college in the big city of Charleston thinking that she wanted to go into the medical industry. But she quickly realized that she was constantly being drawn back to food. Jessica started out working for a caterer to learn all she could about the food world, then found her true calling when she started leading cooking classes at Charleston Cooks! Her easygoing nature and infectious laugh make others feel naturally at home in the kitchen, or around the table. A few years later, she moved to the even bigger city of Washington, DC, and started JLOkitchens as her own personal chef business. She hosted dinner parties, taught cooking classes all over the city, and even cooked for a NBA player. This provided the opportunity for Jessica to delve deeply into many different cuisines, and challenged her to create recipes and meals to fit any dietary request or constraint. Her creations are not only deliciously tasty, but she also has a natural affinity for composing beautiful plates and even more gorgeous photos of them. As the resident chef, she is absolutely in charge of all pie and biscuit making! Jessica has a BS in Biology from College of Charleston, and stayed on to complete post-graduate work in heart research. She lives in the Charleston, SC area with her husband.
