Volume 22, Issue 42

We are getting Weill close to the end!
ROTARY INTERNATIONAL
MISSION
To support its member clubs in fulfilling the Objectives of Rotary by:
• Fostering unity among member clubs;
• Strengthening and expanding Rotary
around the world;
• Communicating worldwide the work of
Rotary; and
• Providing a system of international
administration.
Mr. President
Doug Weill rang
the 42 meeting of
the 22nd term into
order.
The Objectives of
Rotary
1st. The development of
acquaintance as an opportunity for
service.
2nd. High ethical standards in business
and professions; the recognition of
the worthiness of all useful occupations, and the dignifying of each Rotarian's occupation as an opportunity
to serve society.
3rd. The application of the ideal of
service in each Rotarian's personal,
business and community life.
4th. The advancement of inter-national
under-standing, good-will, and peace
through a world fellowship of business
and professional persons united in the
ideal of service.
We couldn’t help
to notice the large
crowd in attendance. Sure last
meeting we were
joined by many of
our Festa
sponsors,
restaurants
and wineries,
but today we
are surrounded my
people in uniform

Fred Teichert still thinks they have
One shade the more, one ray the less,
Had half impair'd the nameless grace
Which waves in every raven tress
Or softly lightens o'er her face,
Where thoughts serenely sweet express
How pure, how dear their dwelling-place.
And on that cheek and o'er that brow
So soft, so calm, yet eloquent,
The smiles that win, the tints that glow,
But tell of days in goodness spent,—
A mind at peace with all below,
A heart whose love is innocent.

How is our Brewfest in
comparison?
I had the opportunity to conduct some very crucial and
important beer event research this weekend . I stepped
up and attended the Raley Field Brewfest! I came up with
some important reason’s why our event is better:
Better Food!- with a great selection and variety at PWR Brewfest, it
knocked their nachos and hot dogs out of the park!
Better Music- The live band we provide has a huge
effect on the overall vibe at the event, and it helps
muffle all the dumb things the drunk people are saying.
Designated Driver– although both events offer a
discount program, we don’t give our DD’s a glass and
beer coupons, unlike Raley,. (although it worked to my advantage
since I got my DD’s coupons)
Better Beer– best of all our beer selection is top notch! I ran out of
options fast at Raley and had to return to the same stand! What a
joke!
That is all for now, stay tuned for further research I
will be conducting on beer and beer related events.
Why do you go out of your way and volunteer your
time to prepare this research, you ask? Because that
is the kind of dedication I have to this club!

Special Recognition
Rotary Awards were given out a few
weekends at the District Conference
in Ronhert Park to several members
in our club and to our club as a
whole.
Congrats to:
Jennifer Curtsinger for her
District work on the Ambassadorial Scholarship Program
Larry Suddjian for his work for
RIF
Rob Angell for his work with
RYE.
Each of these honored members they
will receive a framed award and the
District gave us a children's
book which we will donate to
a local school
other Club President that applied for
the award, but that is a small detail!
The Club itself received two awards:
One for a meritorious newsletter, only 2nd place, but
we are still proud! We are eager to see who got first
and which edition of ours was submitted for judging,
since that may have had something to do with second
place. Carrie Cammack and Bea Maurer
got a book to be donated under their
names as well!
Also, we won for Best Weekly Rotary
Programs, an award we are all proud of,
because the excitement and fun at our
weekly meetings is what keeps us all coming back…
oh yeah, that and helping others and the community!
