Autumn 2 Topic Letter – Zoom to the Moon
During this topic we be exploring rockets and space as well as focusing on two stories, Aliens in
Underpants and Whatever Next.
Literacy
N & R – We will be labelling, discussing
and describing rockets and what’s in
space. We will also be exploring words
that rhyme.
R – We will be writing about space,
rockets and aliens. Using an alien
theme we will be making rhyming
strings.
Expressive Art and Design
N & R – We will be exploring
space themed dance and music.
We will be using different media
to create pictures and models of
space, aliens and rockets. Our
role play area will be a
Spaceship to act out a journey
into space.
Numeracy
N & R We will be naming 2D
shapes and using positional
language.
R – We will also be recognising
numbers and thinking about
adding one more and taking one
away.
