A Message from the Tournament Co-Chairs
The Pink Ribbon Golf Classic was founded 11 years ago by Georgia State Representative Judy Manning
and the late Marietta Mayor Ansley Meaders. Friends and colleagues challenged them to create an allladies golf tournament, and they did!
As a breast cancer survivor, Ansley wanted the Pink Ribbon Classic to raise funds for the American
Cancer Society, and specifically to help in the fight against breast cancer. By supporting the Pink Ribbon
Classic, you are supporting cancer research, patient services, advocacy efforts, and education for cancer
patients and survivors.
We appreciate your support of this tournament and thank you for joining us in the fight against breast
cancer, and we thank you for helping us to raise more than $70,000 this year for the American Cancer
Society!

Harveda Moon
2009 Honoree
Born and raised in Florida, Harveda moved to Marietta, Georgia over 30 years ago,
where she met and married Virgil Moon. She has 3 children: a son, Adam who lives in
Holly Springs, Georgia; a daughter, Angie, who is the mother of her two precious
granddaughters, Riley, 7 and Reagan, 5; and another son, Jason, who lives in Boise,
Idaho.
She has been employed with Cobb County for 10 years. Harveda is involved with the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life of Cobb County.
Being a 6 year survivor of breast cancer, Harveda recognizes that fundraising efforts such as Relay for Life
and the Pink Ribbon Golf Classic are essential in getting us all to a cure for breast cancer along with ensuring that her future generations will not have to fight the battle.
