DIGITAL STRATEGIST POSITION OVERVIEW The Digital Strategist’s role is to fuse strategic understanding together with operational recommendations and project management. Our strategies are mainly about ecosystems, where digital media & content play important roles (seen in a paid-owned-earned vision). The Digital Strategist is dedicated to a portfolio of clients, managing their multichannel approaches and coordination (campaigns and all year-long). He is daily collaborating with other digital experts working in Social Media, PPC and Programmatic amongst others, but also with the Creative team. RESPONSABILITIES 1. Manage and develop key clients in function of their digital marcom needs. 2. Define key strategic pillars and ecosystems for those clients (media and content). 3. Brief and support the expert teams in the implementation of the strategies. 4. Work in close collaboration with the Digital MarketPlace team. 5. Closely collaborate with non-digital experts and general account leads. 6. Design results dashboards together with client 1. Manage and develop key clients in function of their digital marcom needs The Digital Strategist is the top level point of contact for one or more key clients. As such the Digital Strategist must be involved in the general strategic meetings, the yearly definition of budgets and marcom objectives. He must be able to identify where there is growth potential for a brand in the digital field, partnership potential with one or more Dentsu Aegis Network’s clients, or any other client opportunities. 2. Define key strategic pillars and ecosystems for those clients (media and content) The Digital Strategist is in charge of defining the overall digital strategy considering all digital channels (Social Media, Display Prog. or IO, OLV, SEA, SEO, etc.) and with an insights / persona based mindset. The strategic approach must be based not only on media touchpoints (reaching the right people at the right time on the right place / device), but also on content (what do we communicate). This means that the Digital Strategist must get involved (when possible) in the creative, design and development sides of an action. He works with all digital experts required to make strategies and plans happen. 3. Brief and support the expert teams in the implementation of the strategies The Digital Strategist must have sufficient knowledge of each of the digital channels to be able to brief correctly each expert (together or separately) and to assess whether their proposals bring the right answer versus objectives. He is free to organize brainstorm / working sessions to define strategies with other experts if need be. Once the strategy is approved, he follows the implementation phase with the different experts (making sure it remains on point and done with the right quality level (all in close collaboration with digital planners). 4. Work in close collaboration with the Digital MarketPlace team Dentsu Aegis Network’s media investment arm & delivery engine for digital media operating on (amongst others) pricing negotiations, media partnerships, real-time efficiency and optimization and audience centers. 5. Closely collaborate with non-digital experts and general account leads A digital strategy is rarely done in isolation, meaning that a close collaboration with other Dentsu Aegis Network’s entities is a must to optimize multimedia efficiency (on both touchpoints and message level). The Digital Strategist actively joins general meetings and / or organizes meetings in order to define the strategy in a collaborative and participative way with all entities (if need be). 6. Design results dashboards together with client In collaboration with the data tracking team, the Digital Strategist has to define (in accordance with client’s needs) the right dashboard(s) / reporting to bring the clearest and most useable data reflecting the client’s activity. Said data then nourishes forthcoming media and/or content efforts.
