1.1
Set up the Voice-Box at your desk / your telephone
Set up at the Server
According to the demands of the institutes the Xpressions-Services with personal fax (with eMail forwarding) and voice-box (u.a. with remote enquiry on Web-Client) have been prepared
for more than 500 staff members.
Please check first, whether the additional services voice-box and facsimile are set up for you
in the HiPath-system. For that you can open to your personal account page after you logged
in to the intranet and call the web-page:
https://www.fz-rossendorf.de/pls/rois/UserDB.UserWWW.Run
Please check there your telephone number, your personal facsimile number and next to the
position Xpression you must have a “yes” (indicating the availability of those services for
you).
1.2
Change your password (PIN)
At first you have to change your PIN using your telephone to use the services. The PIN has
the initials “1234”, the new PIN has to be only a series of numerals and it mustn’t include
your own telephone number. It is also needed for the management of the voice-box.

The first step is to dial the number 43 on your telephone and follow the instructions until you
are asked to change your PIN.
1.3
Activation of the call forwarding at your Voice-Box
Normally the voice-box should be activated when the call was not accepted after a certain
time (time-dependent forwarding). The forwarding is connected for all Xpression users as
system forwarding in the HiPath and can’t be influenced via the telephone-menu. But a user
has the chance to deactivate all system redirections with the hot key #414 or to activate all
system redirections with the hot key *414. Please consider that also the redirections for your
mobile phone are deactivated (for further questions please contact 2666).
The time, after the voice-box starts is set on 5 times ringing (21 sec.) at the server (it can’t be
changed individually).
You can also activate a local forwarding to the voice-box with your own telephone, analogy to
fixed or variable redirections (these overwriting system settings):
 Button Service-Menu
 Button call divert (redirection)
 Next diversion type with OK-button (variable diversion)
 Next diversion type with OK-button (fixed diversion)
 Next diversion type with OK-button (internal diversion)
 Next diversion type with OK-button (external diversion)
 Diversion time-dependent with >
 Enter target: 41
 Close Service Menu (diversion will be activated automatically with the enter 41)
The local configured time-dependent forwarding will be deactivated with activating the fixed
or variable diversion!
1.4
Set up of the Voice-Box with the help of the Web-Client
For the access to the Web-Client enter your browser with the link:
https://ums.fz-rossendorf.de/cgi_bin/clientassistant/start
Please login with your own telephone number as user name and with your PIN as keyword.
You modify do all settings for your voice-box comfortable with the Web-Client.

You should record an own announcement first with the button “recordings” and after that
you configure this announcement with the button “time profiles” for different times.

Important service-numbers on your telephone
Following service-numbers for the voice-box are used on your telephone:
 41: direct access to your own voice-box (message enquiry are also possible with the
button “mail box”)
 42: consigning voice massages for other members (also when voice-box are not
switch on)
 43: changing of mailbox options, connection to other members

2.1
Usage of the facsimile functionality
Receive personal faxes
Stuff members with an own telephone number and Xpression-functionality get also a personal facsimile number. This number consists of your telephone number plus the number 1 as
additional first number.
The facsimile is forwarded automatically to your e-Mail address and delivered as e-Mail.
There you can print, forward or save it.
If facsimiles are to be printed immediately; there are two possibilities for that:
 Facsimile are forwarded to a fax machine
 Facsimile are printed automatically via a network printer.
The printer can be configured with “standard output equipments”. It is only possible to select
an existing printer. There are a limited number of network printers available for this functionality (if required please contact FKTI).
2.2
Send faxes from the PC
It is possible to send facsimiles via HiPath Xpression from your own PC. The primary interface for that is the e-Mail. Additionally you can set up also a facsimile-printer driver with Windows.
 Send via Mail:
The Xpression-Server converts the e-Mail to a facsimile and delivers it. The e-Mail address for the target fax is to specify as following:

Example for an external fax machine:

Example for an internal fax machine:
(only in exceptional case, because direct e-Mail is preferable):

If you send a facsimile via e-Mail you can use multiple documents in the attachment (.jpg
or .pdf). The normal e-Mail-Text is used as cover sheet.
 Send via print-driver
At the software index: \\files\software\Siemens\Druckertreiber you can find the corresponding fax printer-driver. You can generate a document as a facsimile with the driver.
Attention: Please use for official facsimile the FZR facsimile template!

2.3
Generation of text messages (SMS)
HiPath Xpressions can generate text messages (SMS) too.
This service is connected with a normal mobile phone-card that means that the costs are
very low. Therefore it is possible to use this service only in exceptional cases (for example
automatic alarm signal)! Please contact FKTI in those cases.

Voice-Box enquiry with the help of the Web-Client
The access to the Web-Client starts with your browser with the following link. You have to
login with your telephone number and your PIN.

The in-box of the Web-Client shows you the faxes and voice-massages and you have the
chance to listen to the voice-massages.
