Grant Writing Workshop Guiding Questions Purpose: What is something you have wanted to do with your students/school and haven’t been able to because of funding? Why do you want to do this? How could this benefit your students or school? What is something that inspires or excites your students? What would your students consider to be an engaging activity? How would this project benefit them and/or the school? Is there a project you want to do that includes more than your class? Expected Outcomes: At the conclusion of the project, what experiences, knowledge and/or skills do you expect your students to have gained? What do you want your students to be thinking, feeling or doing? How does this project benefit their learning? How would you measure the impact of this project? Do your expected outcomes align to your grant purpose? Assessment: How do you know the outcomes you are looking for have been met? What tools will you use to measure your expected outcomes? Will you assess the impact at different times during the project? (i.e. pre and post survey) What are the different ways you could measure your expected outcomes to include subjective and objective measures? Is there a culminating activity/project that can serve as an assessment? How will your students know what success looks like? Major Activities: What activities will help you get to your expected outcome? What activities will be engaging for your students to want to participate in this project? How much time do you need for each activity? What is the order of each activity and when do you plan on doing it? Have you included an assessment in your list of activities? Do you have a culmination activity or project for your students?
