Big Camp 2016 1. Avengers vs Villains (June 13-17) Your favorite Avengers need your help this week to defeat a number of evil villains! You will have to show your super skills by being as “Fast as the Wind” to block deadly bombs with your Captain America shield! Your perception will be tested when you use your “X-ray Vision”. You’ll need to think quick to solve special Avenger puzzles. How about a “Hammer Throw” like Thor or some “Hulk Smashing”? Can you be as angry as Hulk? Don't forget to take home some “Hulk Slime”! An awesome Avenger t- shirt will show you are the ultimate superhero! 2. A Clue Murder Mystery (June 20-24) The most renowned sleuths of all time are gathering at the “Y” to solve a most difficult mystery. Our Counselors have gotten themselves mixed up in a murder. We hope you will be able to help solve the crime! You will have to find the weapons, finger print the suspects, identify a few body parts, and even put together a skeleton! Bravery and skill will be needed to complete the clue relay. Throwing hearts around is going to get messy! If you can solve the mystery you will be rewarded with a lovely framed picture of yourself dressed in your undercover detective disguise. 3. Game Central (June 27-July 1) Have you ever wanted to be in a video game? This is your chance to see what it feels like to be chased by ghosts while collecting power pellets! Maybe you would rather throw a few angry birds to knock down buildings. Help Mario and Luigi stomp the Goombas and search for coins. Your TMNT nun-chucks will come in handy against Shredder’s ninja warriors. Take home a Minecraft key chain and a Pacman magnet to go with your Angry Birds. Whether you enjoy old school or new school video games, you’ll fit right in. It's all fun and video games this week, “Y” style! 4. Zombies Take Over (July 11-15) Zombies are all over the country! The bad news is they have been spotted on the “Y” grounds! We have been asked, because of our extensive experiences with monsters, to aide in keeping the grounds safe for unsuspecting members. A briefing will be given every morning about Zombie habits. You will be required to create a Zombie costume so you are able to blend in if they appear. Physical and mental competitions like “Legless Racing”, “Brain Toss” and “What do Zombies Eat” will be required. If you are able to complete all these successfully you will be let loose on the grounds to eradicate the Zombie threat. A film crew will record your success or failure. Good Luck! 5. Snowmageden (July 18-22) It is going to be a very hot summer. There is a chill in the air. Snowflakes are falling and “Snowgies” are bouncing around. What could be better than having a “Snowball” fight? How about playing “Freeze Tag” or skiing to keep cool? How are you at knocking over “Snowmen”? Maybe you’d rather destroy a block of ice. What about putting together an igloo? You’ll have plenty of activities to keep you warm this week while chilling out with your friends. 6. Wet & Wild (July 25–29) It's really hot and we all need to cool off! Let's try some “Drip Drip Drench”. We’ll have water relays and a “Wet Feet” challenge. When we are not getting wet, we’ll be making tie-dyed t-shirts, silly sand characters and a sparkling sun catcher. Of course we need a good day for a “Slip-n-Slide”. Let’s end the week with a “Water Hike” and a “Jellyfish” catch. Bring your swim suit and a big towel! Be prepared to be drenched from head to toe! 7. Crazy Olympic Carnival (August 1–5) Let's all get in the spirit of the summer Olympics! Of course ours is just for fun with crazy competitions. It might get a little messy! How about using a water balloon as a shot put or maybe a pool noodle as a javelin. In our swimming competition you won't even need a swimsuit just a ping pong ball and a straw. We can always throw in some minute to win it games for a little fun. Our closing ceremonies will include a few ribbons and a lot of carnival games because everyone loves to win!
