PARKING in designated spaces at the beginning and end of the school day is very important to ensure the safety of everyone in the Gomer Community. In addition to our JRSO Team monitoring parking, Hampshire Police Service are too. ROCKSTEADY have a couple of places available. SPORTING RAFFLE planned for the football final on THURSDAY 28 APRIL at Privett Park Stadium, 4.30pm – Gomer Junior -v- Alverstoke. Firstly, it would be great to see as many Gomer pupils and families at Privett Park Stadium supporting our football team who have played superbly this term. Working with Alverstoke Junior, we are organising a sporting themed raffle to help raise some funds for PE kit at Gomer and the swimming pool restoration at Alverstoke. We will text you when tickets are on sale and list the prizes on the website. STAFF MATTER and we say farewell to a few members of staff this term. After 8 years in post, Mrs Firbank leaves us to pursue a teaching role closer to home. Mrs Hampton is becoming a lady of leisure following 12 years of service to our school. Both these ladies have contributed much to life at Gomer. Additionally, Mrs Leoni Annis and Mrs Jane Smith are leaving our Cleaning Team at the end of the month. We are going to miss them very much and appreciate how hard they have worked to help keep our school neat and tidy. All staff members leave us with good wishes for a happy future. We are currently recruiting to fill these vacancies. SUMMER UNIFORM is welcome this term. The school uniform list, agreed by the governors, stipulates school grey or black shorts, white shirt/blouse or polo as normal. Girls can wear shorts, culottes or a DARK BLUE (not baby or royal blue – outlined on several occasions ahead of this newsletter) gingham dress (no playsuits please). Also, please note - if girls choose to wear a dark blue gingham blouse, this is to be teamed with the dark blue gingham skirt too. In line with health and safety, hair that can be tied back needs to be tied back. Sensible sandals of a school appropriate colour (white or black) are welcomed in the Summer Term. Thank you for supporting our uniform policy – we are often commended for looking neat and smart. YEAR 6 LEAVERS HOODIES are optional and can soon be ordered (separate letter to follow). The hoody is priced at £10 only and the Y6 leavers can order from a range of colours and sizes. The design is following consultation with the Y6 leavers and will be displayed in our reception. The deadline for orders is Wednesday 25 May. Payments for the hoodies are to be made electronically please. If it is not too hot, children are welcome to wear their hoody on the last day of term – please ensure that it is labelled with your child’s name.
