Southwest University Baseball Classic
Welcome to the 3rd Annual Southwest University Baseball Classic
We are very excited to have you a part of this growing tournament. We are even doubly excited as
this will be the first year under the lights. While we certainly try to give everyone and great and
problem free tourney, sometimes things do arise that we cannot control or just mistakenly
overlooked. If such things occur we will look at the problem and try to solve it as expeditiously as
possible. We challenge everyone to go after that trophy but we certainly wanted to make sure that
everyone would have four games. This is one of the few tournaments that gives teams four games and
we all understand the importance of getting those games. So we hope you enjoy the tourney and

Each team will bring two baseballs per game ( will add a new baseball if needed)
The host team will have their choice of dugouts and be home team during pool play
The championship rounds - host team will have choice of dugouts but will flip for home and
away
The hitting team will be responsible for shagging Foul Balls
Each game will have a 2 hour time limit and inning will be finished if time expires ( no drop
dead) No new inning after 1:50 minutes
(Trophy games – Championship, consolation and 3rd palce will not have a time limit
There will be a 15 run rule after 3 and ½ innings
There will be a 10 run rule after 4 and ½ innings
Ties are permitted during pool play and are counted as ½ game won and ½ game lost
Wild cards will be selected as such
1. Won Loss record
2. Runs scored against
3. Lottery draw
We will look at the matchups within the wild card selections to insure that duplicate matchups
will not occur ( For ex. Del Valle vs. Mt View in pool play) If that matchup occurred in the
second rounds (Wild card selection) it will be changed to a different venue to create a different
matchup.
With the understanding that the tournament directors are trying to create a fair and balanced
solution to the number of teams within the tourney itself. We thank you for your
understanding and hope that you will have an enjoyable experience
THE WINNER OF THEIR POOLS WILL BE HOME TEAM VS ANY WILD CARD WITHIN THE
CHAMPIONSHIP ROUNDS
