Be present in the moment. Find comfort in the positive
moments. They will help you get through the tough ones.
Take a brisk walk. Just 10 minutes of exercise will
increase your energy and lower anxiety. You’ll likely need
to adjust your normal fitness routine sometimes, and
that is okay.
Pause and Breathe. For at least a few minutes each day,
stop everything you’re doing and notice your breathing.
Note any thoughts and feelings without judging yourself.
Being “present” mentally helps keep you from dwelling
on the past and worrying about the future. Also notice
your posture.
Commit to healthy eating. Avoid skipping meals, and
have healthy snacks available during busy times. Enjoy
small portions of your less healthy favorites.
Get enough sleep. If your mind is busy, pay attention
to your breathing. Note a thought, let it go, and come
back to your breathing.

Mom, I know you do the dishes
And I know you cook the food
I know you scrub down all the floors
Even when you're in a bad mood.
And every night you walk the dog
While I'm watching all my shows
On Thursday's you take out the trash
And every spring you wash the windows.
Mom, I know you're sad I'll go someday
And leave you all alone
But right now I'm only 35
So what other place could I call home?
The next meeting for Residential
Center will be Thursday,

4/28/16 MARY HAYNES
Elmer O. Smith
Lodge No. 307
to The Masonic Home
on July 22, 2011, and is
Sponsored by Daytona Beach
Lodge No. 270. Marian resides
in Room #267E, and her
birthday is June 29th. Marion moved here from the
Daytona Beach area with her husband, Bill. Marion
was born and raised in Springville, PA. She has one
sister who lives in Arizona and her two brothers are
now deceased. Marion graduated from high school
and took college Administrative Courses. She worked
for the US Postal Service for 12 years and spent 21
years working as a Bookkeeper for Halifax Appliance
before she retired. She came to Florida and was
offered a position through a friend to work at an
Orthopedic Doctor’s office, which led to meeting her
husband, Bill. The Doctor Marion worked for,
belonged to the same Shrine Temple as Bill. Marion
accompanied him to one of the Shrine affairs held in
St. Cloud where she was introduced to Bill. They
became married on June 28, 1986. Marion’s Birthday
is June 29th and she has always said with a big grin, “I
got Bill for my Birthday!” This was a happy second
time around marriage for both of them! Marion is an
Eastern Star Member of Daytona Beach No.1 and the
Ladies of Oriental Shrine No.52. In her past she loved
sewing, making floral arrangements and was involved
in ceramics along with a variety of assorted craft
projects. One of her greatest pleasures in her life has
been belonging to the Masonic Fraternity and she
loved every bit of those years she spent cooking and
helping out at Masonic events. Marion now loves her
chats with her sister and nephew on the phone, and
she is a huge Solitaire fanatic, playing it on her
laptop in her room. Marion can always be seen with
a smile and her numerous close longtime Masonic
friends adore her… as do we! Congratulations,
Marian, on being May Resident of the Month, and
have a wonderful year ahead! XOXO!
