Horton has a professional multi-field skeet and
trap range with crazy quail and a five stand
available to individuals, groups and gun clubs.
The skeet range clubhouse offers rental guns,
ammunition and other range supplies. A range
manager is available for assistance.

Planned Programs
During the summer, programs about a variety of
natural and cultural history topics are scheduled
weekly. Hayrides, campfires and many other fun
and informative activities take place on the
weekends. Canoeing the easy-flowing Duck
River is great family fun. Scheduled day floats
are conducted by park staff during the summer,
or visitors may bring their own or rent canoes
from a nearby outfitter. Ranger-led programs
are available upon request. Team building sessions on our low ropes course facilitated by park
personnel are the perfect way to add value and
entertainment to your group’s stay

Directions
Henry Horton State Park is located 40 miles
south of Nashville on U.S. Hwy. 31A between
Chapel Hill and Lewisburg. The park is accessible
via 1-65 by turning east on State Hwy. 99 and
following the signs.

Bike Trails
Picnic Pavilions and Playgrounds
Bikes are allowed on paved roads
throughout the park.
Horton has four picnic shelters that can
be reserved with a fee. The shelters hold
from 35-100 people and have grills available.
They may be reserved one year in advance.
Restrooms are convenient to all of the shelters.
Several picnic tables and playgrounds are
located along the Duck River and throughout
the park.
Swimming
The Olympic-sized pool is open seasonally and is
free to inn and cabin guests. There is a wading
pool for children and a concession area nearby.
Campers pay a reduced fee.
Fishing
Henry Horton State Park
Camping
Set in the rolling hills of Middle Tennessee, the
1523 acre park is located on the former estate of
the late Henry H. Horton, 36th governor of
Tennessee. Running through the park is the
historic Duck River, one of the most bio-diverse
ecosystems in the entire world. Remnants of a
mill and bridge operated and used by the
Wilhoite family for over a century may be seen
today on the Wilhoite Mill Trail. Henry Horton is
known for their championship 18-hole golf
course, inn and cabins, campground and trap
and skeet range.
There are 76 campsites situated near the scenic
Duck River. There are 10 tent sites, and nine
primitive campsites, and three back country
campsites. The remaining 54 sites have water and
electric hookups with wireless internet available.
Fire rings with grills, lantern poles and picnic
tables are available at each site. Two bathhouses
and a dump station serve campers. Stop-by at the
camp store to stock up on necessities or a
selection of gift items while you are staying with
us. The in-season stay limit is two weeks. The out
of season stay limit is four weeks. Pets are
welcome; however, they must be kept on a leash
and may not be tied unattended.
Inn and Conference Center
The Henry Horton Inn has 73 inn rooms and four
suites. Rooms are air conditioned, carpeted and
equipped with TV and phone. The suites have a
small refrigerator, microwave, toaster and
coffee maker. The inn has handicapped
accessible rooms and pet-friendly rooms.
Cabins
Cabins are open year-round and are
located within walking distance of the
hotel. The five rustic cabins have two
bedrooms with queen beds, one bath,
full kitchen and living room, wood burning
fireplaces , air conditioning, TV, phones and
charcoal grills outside. The three deluxe cabins
have two bedrooms and bathrooms, gas
fireplace, central heat and air and the amenities
of the rustic cabins. There is one pet-friendly
cabin. One of the deluxe cabins is handicapped
accessible. Cabins have a two night minimum.
Meeting Rooms
There are four meeting rooms in the inn with
2,000 sq. feet of space to accommodate from
15-90 people. The Conference Lodge, with 3,150
sq. feet of meeting space is located in a
separate building near the inn and is used for
large meetings up to 300 people.
Restaurant
The Governor’s Table is a family restaurant
capable of seating 225 people and includes private
dining areas. It serves an outstanding Southern
cuisine along with fresh and healthy food options
cooked with produce from our on-site garden.

Golf Course
The golf course is an 18-hole championship par 72
course. It is only closed on winter holidays. The
pro shop has an excellent snack bar boasting the
best hamburger in the area! The course also has a
driving range. Rental clubs are available at the
pro-shop by calling 931-364-2319
A Tennessee fishing license is required to fish on
the Duck River. Licenses are sold at local
convenience stores and online at
www.tn.wildlifelicense.com.
Gift Shop and Camp Store
The inn has a gift shop with toiletries, souvenirs
and Tennessee-made crafts. The campground has
a camp store that provides camping necessities,
snacks and gifts to remember your stay.
Hiking Trails
There are four easy hiking trails at Henry Horton. The Hickory Ridge Loop is located near the
campground and traverses habitats ranging
from sink holes to unusual cedar glades. The
Wilhoite Mill Trail winds through an early mill
community and along the Duck River and Spring
Creek. The Adeline Wilhoite River Trail follows
the Duck River to a 20 foot observation tower
overlooking a wetland rehabilitation area.
