ACCOUNTING:
Dean's Medal for Academic
The Prize was established in 2007 to recognise the best student(s)
Excellence
in particular degree programmes at the Waikato Management
School. A student is eligible to receive the Dean’s medal if the
degree has been completed between the day after the last date for
eligibility to graduate at the April graduation ceremony in the
preceding year and the last date for eligibility to graduate at the
April graduation ceremony in the award year.
Association of Chartered Certified
The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)
Accountants Prizes
sponsored Prize for students studying Accounting.
The ACCA Prize shall be awarded to the student enrolled at the
University who has the highest grade in the paper ACCT412
Organisations and Society.
CCH Advanced Taxation Prize
The CCH Advanced Taxation Prize is awarded annually to the
student enrolled in the Waikato Management School who is the
best student of the year in the course ACCT451 (Advanced
Taxation).
The Prize was established in 1991 by CCH New Zealand Limited.
Chartered Secretaries of New
The Chartered Secretaries of New Zealand (CSNZ) sponsor two
Zealand Prizes
Prizes.
The CSNZ Prize in Business Law Research shall be awarded to
the student enrolled at the University who receives the highest
mark for the compulsory essay on corporate governance in
ACCT422.
The CSNZ Prize in Business Law shall be awarded to the student
enrolled at the University who has the highest grade in the paper
ACCT322.
CPA Australia Prize in Accounting
CPA (Certified Practising Accountant) is one of the largest, most
Theory
recognised and respected accounting bodies in the world and it has
the capabilities of strategy, leadership, and global business that set
CPA Australia apart in today's dynamic business environment.
The prize will be awarded annually to the top student who has the
highest grade for the year in paper ACCT301 - Accounting Theory.
Ian Beattie Prize in Taxation
The Ian Beattie Prize in International Taxation is awarded annually
to the student enrolled in the Waikato Management School who is
the best student of the year in the course ACCT551 (International
Tax Strategies).
The Prize was originally established in 1986 by the Hamilton office
of Beattie Rickman (which was at that stage called Touche, Ross
and Co) as the Beattie Rickman Prize in International Taxation. The
Prize was renamed the Ian Beattie Prize in International Taxation
in 2007.
Jerry Rickman Prize in International
The Jerry Rickman Prize in Taxation is awarded annually to the
Tax
student enrolled in the Waikato Management School who is the
best student of the year in the course ACCT351 (Taxation).
The Prize was originally established in 1986 by the Hamilton office
of Beattie Rickman (which was at that stage called Touche, Ross
and Co.) as the Beattie Rickman Prize in Taxation. The Prize was
renamed the Jerry Rickman Prize in Taxation in 2007.

highest grade in the paper ACCT231 (Management Accounting:
Accounting for Organisational Control), over the calendar year.
The Prize was established in 2003 by the Hamilton office of the
accounting firm Staples Rodway.
