Three Rivers School District
Intervention and Enrichment
A Matter of Will
• “Great schools are not a matter of
circumstance. Great schools are a matter of
will.”

Change
• “The only person who likes
change is a baby with a wet
diaper.”
- Mark Twain
Why Do We Need To Change?
• Increased amount of Incompletes and raised bar with
Proficiency Based Grading
• Teachers contract- constraints, doing more with less
• Increased requirements for graduation
• Students need increased support at the HS level- transition
issues
• Approximately 38% of our students at IVHS are behind in
credits (41% of our Sophomores)
• IVHS Graduation rate is 71%
• Approximately 30% of our freshman at HVHS are not on track
to graduate.
• HVHS Graduation rate is 70%
SUCCESS Defined
Two periods every
Wednesday
Time for students to reassess to become proficient
Time for students to
complete necessary prior
work to become eligible for
reassessments
Time for teachers to work
with students in an
environment built around
students needs and wants
What it is...
Monitoring student
achievement and
providing interventions
as soon as students
start falling behind
happens in all
departments across the
school.
“Effective feedback is timely. Delay in providing students
feedback diminishes its value for learning.”
(Banger-Drowns, Kulik, Kulik, & Morgan, 1991).
