Check our website at: www.forrestersbeachprobus.org.au PO Box 3004, Wamberal. NSW, 2260 Newsletter No 137 June 2017 Welcome to our first meeting of winter. The cooler mornings and evenings have been inconsistent but I'm sure they will be here with a vengeance very soon. Though I have enjoyed the warm days as I'm sure you all have. Another month has seemingly flown by but there has been plenty keeping us busy, a lovely walk, Lovedale Long Lunch, Maitland Gaol tour, Bodyguard, Rumours, Circus Oz to name just a few as well as our normal activities. Hopefully you have been well enough to partake in them. I hope all the Mothers had a wonderful Mothers Day too. I am joining a group of 14 members on our club’s South Pacific cruise this Saturday 17th June, so our Management Committee Meeting is moving to 4th July. From President Wendy Truman Please keep in mind we have several positions becoming available for the next Probus year: Secretary, Treasurer, and Coast Sizzle team. Graham and I visited Kay Haerland”s exhibition and were blown away with her wide variety of works and her enthusiasm when she explains the method of her process for different textures and designs. Hopefully, many of you had the opportunity also. Congratulations Kay on your 1st Prize in the Royal Easter Show. All members who are interested in photography, and we have some brilliant photographers, PSPL are conducting the 2017-2018 National Photographic Competition-Australia. With even more regulars away, unwell or busy with commitments and some late scratchings our team reduced even further to a hearty 15. We certainly missed our absent members. Our 1st lane as usual were the noisy group of girls, who were supporting one and other and all very pleased as they all scored triple digits in the second game, and their overall totals were close. I think Graham Thomas was still fired up after clashing with Telstra for a week after losing our phone and internet for 4 days. He managed a turkey in his second game (3 strikes in a row) and in that game scoring 4 strikes in 5 frames. Pat de la Haye started game 2 with a blast, in 6 frames she scored a 9, spare, spare, spare, spare then a strike. Well done Pat! Jayne Wilson proved a holiday refreshes the soul with success. Spare a aplenty - Jayne 7: Pat, Sheenagh Wilson, Stuart Speight 6: Faye McNamara and Rawson Ball 5. Strikes also aplenty - Graham 9: Clyde 6: Rawson, Di Blaxell, Sheenagh 3. We welcomed new club member Allan Moore to our group for the first time. The results were as follows; Stuart S, Pippa B. & Robyn P-S defeated Phil C, Sonia F & John B. 12/9. Ralph O, Lindsay McN & Eddie K defeated Bob F, Stuart P-S & Barry T 16/2 and Rawson B, Allan M. & Graham T defeated Ross Q, John K. & Graham T[Swinger] 22/5.
