NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release – May 11, 2015 Tecumseh Corn Festival Entertainment Line-Up th The Tecumseh Corn Festival is excited to announce that it has booked its headline entertainment line-up for the 40 annual Tecumseh Corn Festival at Lacasse Park. Friday, August 28th – These Kids Wear Crowns Saturday, August 29th – Alyssa Reid “The Tecumseh Corn Festival has been proud to bring names like the Rankin Family, Natalie MacMaster, Hedley, Finger Eleven, Theory Of A Deadman, Our Lady Peace, The Tea Party, and Down With Webster in recent past. So These Kids Wear Crowns on Friday night and Alyssa Reid on Saturday night are a natural fit.” says Corn Festival Entertainment Lead, Councillor Brian Houston. These Kids Wear Crowns is a Canadian Partycore Pop Rock band from British Columbus and have toured with fellow Canadians artists such as Hedley and Faber Drive. In 2010, they release their full-length album, Jumpstart, and performed on MuchMusic’s show NewMusicLive and CityTV New Year’s Eve Bash. In addition to the band’s Canadian success (which includes 2 gold singles for ‘Jumpstart’ and ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody’) they have achieved Double Platinum success with Jumpstart in Australia. They have toured around the globe, will be releasing th new music this summer just in time for them to take stage at the Tecumseh Corn Festival on Friday, August 28 . Edmonton-born, Toronto-based musician and artist, Alyssa Reid, will be performing on the Corn Festival stage on th Saturday, August 29 . Having risen to fame following the release of her single “Alone Again,” Alyssa has toured internationally with One Direction and performed at the Juno Awards as a nominee. Her second studio album Time Bomb was released in 2014 and features songs Hurricane, Running Guns, and Satisfaction Guaranteed. The Tecumseh Corn Festival has once again been named one of the Top 100 Festivals in Ontario by Festival and Events Ontario and this year, the Festival is celebrating 40 years. The 40 year celebration includes four days of spectacular family entertainment, contests and activities, including a special anniversary celebration on Sunday afternoon. The Festival features a vendor village filled with a wide variety of Arts and Crafts and food booths, a carnival midway, a festival tent, the “Largest Small Town Parade” on Saturday morning, and of course the renowned Corn Booth featuring “Tons and Tons of Hot Buttered Corn on the Cob from Tecumseh’s own Bonduelle and prepared by the volunteers of Optimist Club of St. Clair Beach. The Town of Tecumseh once again looks forward to hosting the annual Tecumseh Corn Festival from Thursday, August 27, 2015 to Sunday, August 30, 2015.
