Can selfies be cute? Sure.

You bet. But did you know that there
are some places that selfies are actually illegal?

SAFE?
Last November, a woman died in
Spain when she slipped and fell
off a bridge while trying to take
a selfie. And in August, a couple
fell from a cliff in Portugal trying
to capture the perfect selfie from the edge.
Dangerous conditions have prompted a
slew of laws banning certain selfies.
Among the banned pics:
1. Taking a selfie with a tiger is illegal in
New York state. Apparently, this followed a rash of men taking such snaps
to impress the ladies on dating sites.
(Really, guys? REALLY?)
2. Any digital recording of the running of
the bulls in Spain is fine-worthy - to the
tune of $4000. Last year, a runner
had to fork over just that when he
snapped the world’s most dangerous
selfie. While running.

Religious leaders have expressed their distaste with the number of Muslims posting
selfies at the holy site of Mecca.. They
surely were not impressed with the number
of religious faithful who thought that nothing says ‘thoughtful reflection’ like a prayer
selfie.
AND FINALLY, LEAVE IT TO THE FRENCH
In classic French style, a section of La Garoupe, a popular beach in Southern France,
has been designed a ‘No Braggy Zone’ as in, ‘Let’s not rub our joyous
relaxation in the face of the
poor schlubs who are chained to
a desk at the moment’! The
beach has been known to be
patrolled by police shutting
down selfie-taking.
Research even shows that we’re
missing out on the emotional and
memory connection to moments in our lives
when we are too obsessed with the perfect
shot. So next time you reach for your
phone (in 24 seconds, if you’re like 90%
percent of people in developed countries),
reach for the person next to you. And
make the most of a moment, not a post!

CHICKEN
2 boneless skinless chicken breasts
2 8oz cartons chive & onion sour cream
2 tbsp. butter
Salt
12 slices bacon
1. Flatten chicken to 1/2” thick
2. Spread 3 tbsp cream cheese over
each piece
3. Dot with butter, sprinkle with salt,
roll up
4. Wrap each with a bacon strip
5. Place seam side down in a greased
pan
6. Bake uncovered at 400F for 35-40
minutes or until juice runs clear
7. Broil 6” from the heat for 5 minutes
or until bacon is crisp
