TRANSFER - Maestros del Futuro: Bilingual Educators Scholarship
2017-2018
Scholarship Application Deadline: February 1, 2017
The Maestros Scholarship provides a scholarship to waive room costs at the University of Nebraska at
Kearney. The scholarship is capped the base room rate, which is the room rate charged for residents
of Men’s Hall and is awarded to students pursuing classroom teaching credentials at the University of
Nebraska at Kearney. Students may use the waiver at any on-campus residence hall.

Applicants must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid by February 1, 2017 in order to establish
eligibility as U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents of the United States. Students who have deferred action
(DACA) status are not able to complete the FAFSA and therefore must submit documentation of DACA status
with this application.

Applicants must be fluent, both speaking and writing, in Spanish and demonstrate a genuine commitment to
becoming a teacher.

An ACT score of 22 or higher and minimum GPA of 3.0 are required.

The scholarship is granted for up to four years if all conditions of contract are met beginning with the fall 2017
semester.

Applicants must be admitted to UNK by February 1, 2017.
Only completed applications will be processed. A completed application includes:
