TUESDAY, 31sT JULY. NATIONAL SECURITY (PRICES) REGULATIONS. PRICES REGULATION ORDER No. 2170. -New South Wales-Country Areas No. 1. Liquors ,spirituous by the IN pursuance of the powers conferred upon I,meMortimer National Security (Prices) Regulations, Eugene McCarthy, Assistant Prices Commissioner, hereby make the following Order:Citation. Order 1. 'This Order may be cited as Prices Regulation No. 2170. Definition's and interpretations. and the Schedule thereto, unless the 2.-(1.) In this Order contrary intention appears" Prescribed areas " means all those areas of New South Wales comprised within a radius of three miles from the principal Post Office of each of the following - Maximum prices Liquors specified in schedule. I fix and declare the maximum price at which any spirituous liquors specified in the Schedule to this Order may be sold in the prescribed areas to be the price specified in 3. that Schedule. Maximum prices-Non-listed liquors or unspecified quantities of listed liquors. I fix and declare the maximum price at which any kind or quantity of spirituous liquors or any mixture thereof, or any mixture of liquids containing any spirituous or fermented liquors, for the sale of which a maximum price is not fixed by the foregoing provisions of this Order, may be sold by any 4. person, to be(a) In respect of sales of beer, ale, stout or lager (together with any container supplied therewith) half-an amount computed at the rate of one penny for each fluid ounce of such beer, ale, stout or lager; places:-Aberdare, Abermain, Balgownie, Bellambi, (b) in respect of sales of whisky, brandy, gin, schnapps or rum (together with any container supplied therewith) -an amount computed at the rate of threepence for each fluid ounce of such whisky, brandy, gin, schnapps or rum; or (c) in respect of sales of any spirituous liquors other than those specified in sub -paragraphs (a) or (b) hereof, or any mixture of spirituous liquors or any Bellbird, Brooklyn, Bulli, Cessnock, Clifton, Corrimal, Dapto, Ellalong, Heddon Greta, Helensburgh, Holmes ville, Kearsley, Killingworth, Kitchener, Kurri Kurri, Miami, Mount Kembla, Neath, Paxton, Port Kembla, Riverstone, Scarborough, Thirroul, Unanderra, Weston, Wollongong, Woonona. " spirituous liquors" means any spirituous or fermented liquors or any mixture thereof, and includes any mixture thereof with aerated waters; " aerated waters " include& cordials, fruit drinks and bottled mineral waters; spirit drinks " means any mixture prepared by the seller, containing gin, schnapps, whisky, brandy or rum; " 5 -oz. glass" means any glass or similar container containing not less than 5-oz.; " small 9 -oz. glass " means any glass or similar container containing less than 9 oz.; " 9 -oz. glass " means any glass or similar container containing o oz. or more but less than 16 oz.; " 16 -oz. glass " means any glass or similar container containing not less than 16 oz.; "oz." means fluid ounce or ounces as the case may be; " nip " means one fluid ounce; "quarter bottle" means a reputed half pint (6i fluid mixture of liquors containing spirituous liquors (together with any container supplied' therewith) -an amount computed at the rate of one hall;penny for each fluid ounce of such spirituous liquor or mixture. " mixed ounces) ; " half bottle " means a reputed pint (13 fluid ounces) ; "bottle" means a reputed quart (26 fluid ounces) ; "quart or flagon " means an imperial quart (40 fluid ounces) ; " split bottle " means 7 fluid ounces,. (2.) Where any price calculated under the provisions of this Order is not an exact number of pence or half- pence, such price shall be computed to the nearest upward halfpenny. (3.) For the purpose of this Order, where any bottled spirituous liquors are sold without a label bearing the brand and description of that liquor, that liquor shall be deemed not to be of any of the brands or descriptions set out in the Schedule to this Order. 4508.-No. 148. PRICE 3D. - Sales by wholesale-Maximum prices. Notwithstanding the foregoing provisions of this Order, I fix and declare the maximum price at which any spirituous liquors may be sold by wholesale to be the maximum price fixed for such sale by wholesale'other than by such foregoing provisions, subject however, in each case, to the 'maximum limit imposed by those foregoing provisions. 5. Exhibition of price list. Every person who sells or has for sale any spirituous liquors or any mixture thereof, a maximum price for the sale of which is fixed by the provisions of this Order, shall exhibit in a prominent position in his place of business, or, if he has more than one place of business, in each of his places of business, and in each of the bars, dining -rooms and lounges at such place or places of business, a notice or notices setting forth the maximum price fixed by this Order for any kind and quantity of such spirituous liquors or mixture thereof. I hereby declare that any notice shall be deemed to be an approved form if it is otherwise in compliance with regulation 45 of the National Security (Prices) Regulations. 6. Variation of maximum prices by notice. HER'EA.S I, James Macintosh Fraser, the Minister of State for Health, am satisfied in respect of the State of Tasmania that the law in force in that State sufficiently carries -but the objects of the National Security (Venereal Diseases and Contraceptives) Regulations (except regulation 12 thereof ) : - Now therefore, in pursuance of regulation 2A of the said Regulations, I hereby make the following Order: I declare that the provisions of the National Security Diseases and Contraceptives ) Regulations ( Venereal (except regulation 12 thereof) shall not apply in the State of Tasmania. Ipursuance of the powers conferred by the National Security ( Shipping Co- ordination ) Regulations and on the recommendation of the Stevedoring Industry Commission, I, William Patrick Ashley, Minister of State for Supply and Shipping, hereby (a) Accept the resignation of Hubert Charles Lewis as Chairman- of the Hobart Waterside Employment Committee as from the 19th March, -1945; (b) appoint Cyril Sinclair Barnard as Chairman of the Hobart Waterside Employment Committee as from the 2nd July, 1945. - Dated the eighteenth day of July, 1945.
