was developed to help you:

How The Program Works
The Express Energy Efficiency Program travels
around Wisconsin, community-by-community,
installing energy-saving products into eligible homes.
There is no cost to participate in the program and
the energy-saving products and installation are free.
The program partners with participating Wisconsin
utility companies, city government agencies and
local organizations and installation appointments
are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Participants are eligible to receive the following
energy-saving products and installation (a $100 value)
Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs (CFLs)
(ENERGY STAR® Qualified Light Bulbs)
These energy efficient bulbs use, on average,
75 percent less electricity than standard
incandescent bulbs and last at least 10 times
longer. The program will install up to 10 CFLs.
Light-Emitting Diode Light Bulbs (LEDs)
(ENERGY STAR® Qualified Light Bulbs)
LEDs, the latest lighting technology, also
use at least 75 percent less energy than
incandescent bulbs. Plus, they produce less
heat and more light per watt and have an
extremely long life span, usually about
50,000 hours. The program will install up
to 2 LEDs.
High Efficiency Showerheads
Lower the gallons per minute used without
compromising performance. Residents will
use less water, potentially lowering their water
bill, and will use less hot water, potentially
lowering their heating bill. The program will
install as many showerheads as needed.
Water-Saving Kitchen and Bathroom
Faucet Aerators
Faucet aerators effortlessly save water, and
water conservation means home energy
savings. Kitchen and bathroom aerators are
simple screw-in attachments with screens
that mix air into the water flow, reducing the
amount of water needed to get the same
pressure. The program will replace as many
kitchen and bathroom faucet aerators as needed.
Insulation Pipe Wraps
Insulating your cold and hot water pipes at the
water heater reduces the energy required to
heat the incoming water and helps reduce the
heat lost by the outgoing water.
Water Heater Thermostat Setback Assistance
Many water heaters are factory-set at
140 degrees, although most households
are comfortable with a faucet temperature
of 120 degrees. Reducing the water heater
temperature by as little as 10 degrees can
save between 3 to 5 percent in energy costs
and reduce the risk of scalding.
The Installation Appointment
Express Energy Efficiency Program installation appointments
take approximately 45 minutes to complete and are performed
by professional Focus on Energy installation technicians. The
appointment includes:
•A brief walk-through of your home to provide basic energy-saving
tips and suggestions.
•Installation of your free energy-saving products.
•An opportunity to ask questions about your home’s energy use
and comfort issues and learn about other Focus on Energy
residential programs and rewards.
Program Eligibility and Requirements
•Resident must be a customer of a participating Wisconsin utility
company
•Must be a resident of a single family or multifamily residence of
three or fewer units
•Residence can be owner or renter occupied. Renter must obtain
permission from the landlord
