there is no communications possible with the LocatePlaza Nano and that the LocatePlaza
Nano will stay in POWER DOWN mode until a wake up event occurs.
Wake up events are:

LED Status
When the LocatePlaza Nano wakes up, the RED led and the Yellow led will be on for a short
while.
The YELLOW led indicates the GPS status. Constant on means that the LocatePlaza Nano
has a found a good GPS position. A blinking yellow led means that the LocatePlaza Nano is
looking for a GPS position.
The RED led indicates the status of the communication. 2 blinks per seconds means that the
PIN code is not accepted. Please be sure to set the SIM PIN code to 0000 before inserting it
in the LocatePlaza Nano.
1 blink per second means that the LocatePlaza Nano has accepted the PIN code and that it
will now try to login to the mobile network.
1 blink per 2 seconds means that the LocatePlaza Nano has a GSM network connection and
will accept incoming sms commands.
1 blink per 8 seconds means that the LocatePlaza Nano has a GPRS connection and is able
to communicate to the internet. Also, the LocatePlaza Nano will accept incoming sms
commands.
When the red led is constant on, the LocatePlaza Nano has an active session to the internet.
As long as the session is active, the LocatePlaza Nano can send and receive data.
Operation after Wake Up
After wake up, the LocatePlaza Nano will do the start up event as described in section 13.
The timers are reset and the output ports are deactivated. Also a MOTION Trigger is
activated by special action 48.
As long as there is no valid GPS position, the LocatePlaza Nano will reset timer 1 and timer 3
in section 11. This is based on the status of output 3.
In Section 17, as soon as a GPS fix is obtained, output 3 will be activated to indicate a valid
GPS Position. So. As soon as there is a GPS position, output3 is active and then timer 1 will
be running providing a GPS position every 120 seconds. BUT, timer 1 will only run when
Virtual Output 1 is active.
To save some power, we have set the Virtual output 1 to inactive as long as the speed is
below 4 km/hr and active when the gps speed is higher than 6 km/hr. The result of this is
that timer 1 will be reset as long as the speed is below 4 km/hr and timer 1 will run when
the speed is higher than 6 km/hr. When Timer 1 is not running, then timer 5 will provide a
position every 300 seconds.
Note: If you want a GPS position every 60 seconds, simply remove the special action from
Timer 1. Then as long as the LocatePlaza Nano is in moving state, Timer 1 will provide you
with a new GPS position.
How long the LocatePlaza Nano will remain in moving state
The LocatePlaza Nano will remain in moving state when one of the following conditions is
met:
# The LocatePlaza Nano is connected to the charger. This can be the car charger or
the USB cable. As long as the input voltage is higher than 4,5 Volt as set in Section
57.
# The motion detector measures motion. As long as the motion detector detects
motion for 8 consecutive seconds or more.
How will the LocatePlaza Nano go from Moving State to Non
Moving State
When no motion is detected, the LocatePlaza Nano has a Motion Detection Time Out of 300
seconds. When a new motion is detected within 300 seconds, the Motion Detection Time Out
will restart.
After the motion detection time out, the LocatePlaza Nano will generate the STOP MOVING
event in section 14. It will take a new GPS position and will deactivate output 4. After STOP
MOVING, the LocatePlaza Nano will POWER DOWN according to timer 3 or timer 4. (In
Section 11, timer 3 and timer 4 are reset as long as the LocatePlaza Nano is in moving
state).
As soon as position is obtained, the LocatePlaza Nano will power down after 10 seconds
(timer 3). When no position could be obtained, timer 4 will POWER DOWN the LocatePlaza
Nano after 150 seconds.
Note: At Stop Moving, output 3 is deactivated. And timer 3 is reset as long as output 3 is
inactive (Section 11). Timer 4 is reset as long as output 4 is active.
How will the LocatePlaza Nano go in POWER DOWN state
Upon one of the following events, the Power Down is initiated:
# 10 seconds after a Position is obtained at stop moving
# 150 seconds after Stop moving, when no position is obtained
# Pressing the button for at least 10 seconds, according to the settings in section 15,
timer 8 and Section 11, input 3 is active
NOTE: In section 51, the Digital Input 5 (which is the button) is connected to Input 3. In
Section 11: as long as input 3 is active, the timer 8 will be reset. !! Input 5 is ACTIVE when
NOT pressed. So, input 3 will be active when input 5 is NOT pressed.
NOTE: When you are familiar with the REV 8. Modules.. The input 5 has reversed operation
on the Nano..
Minimum Number of SATS for a GPS Position
In section 55, the minimum number of sats for a GPS Position has been set to 4. When too
few sats are found, the position will be less accurate. The module operates under CEP 2,5m.
SMS Command
To be able to view a position on a Mobile Smart Phone, a SMS command with the word
POSITION can be used to request a GPS position from the SSN. Simply send a SMS with
the text POSITION to the LocatePlaza Nano with your Smart Phone and after the module
receives the command, it will automatically send you the position. Below, a picture with the
answer and the result of opening it on the Smart Phone.
