Deepa and Tim put on their jetpacks and fly over to
where the red panda is.

Deepa and Tim get closer so they can see the red
pandas in the tree. They want to learn more about
red pandas.

The red panda is resting in the tree. Red pandas like
to rest during the day.

When the sun sets, the red panda creeps out of the
trees to look for more food.

Tim and Deepa see the red panda eat bamboo, eggs,
seeds, and bugs.
Page:
The red panda must eat so that she can become a
mom in the spring. The mom has up to 5 cubs. ?She
keeps her cubs in a den.

Tim and Deepa watch the cubs nest in the den. They
learn that cubs like to play, just like us.

Deepa is thinking about the red panda’s size. Tim
says, "A red panda is as big as a cat, but it has a very
long tail."

All of a sudden they hear a loud crack. The red panda
quickly runs back to its den. Deepa and Tim wonder
what happened.

Tim and Deepa peek through the leaves to see what

has happened.
Page:
A man with an ax chops the tree. When the trees are
cut down, the red panda has no home. The red
panda cubs need help. Deepa and Tim have a plan.

First, they rush down to the man with the ax. Next,
they yell "Stop!" The man looks stunned. He stops
chopping the tree.

After that, Deepa and Tim tell the man about the red
pandas that live in the tree. The man listens and
decides help them save the red pandas’ home.

To protect the red pandas, we have to stop people
from cutting down all the trees.
